-patiizen. Es ist bekannt, Schallbandmatrizen bezw. -patrizen auf galvanoplastischem Wege her zustellen.
Method and device for producing sound tape matrices BEZW. -patiizen. It is known to bezw sound tape matrices. -Matrices to be made by electroforming.
For this purpose, it has been proposed to provide an original sound tape provided with the sound recordings, for example a wax tape, with a conductive upper surface and then to introduce it into a galvanic bath in which a copper deposit is generated on the writing side of the tape, which after detachment of the original sound band represents the matrix.
This type of production of pressing or embossing matrices has the disadvantage of being time-consuming and costly, especially when it comes to the production of wide sound tape matrices with a large number of adjacent sound tracks, because it requires a relatively large amount of time, up to the die in the galvanic bath has reached the strength required for pressing.
Electroplated sound tape matrices made of copper are too soft to produce large series of sound tapes using a pressing or embossing process. You don't like to take along at all. the original die is pressed or embossed, since if this die is damaged or unusable, the original holder is no longer available. For this reason, a template is first made from the original template and from this one or more pressure-resistant press or embossing templates are made.
If the patrix is manufactured in a galvanic bath, with the original matrix, as it comes from the galvanic bath itself, serving as the cathode, the patrix is narrower than the original matrix because of the required power connection on the surface of the cathode. It also goes into the production of the press or embossing die using the male die, as it comes from the bath, as a cathode. Part of the breadth lost.
In order to obtain a press die that matches the normal bandwidth of the playable sound film, an original die must be produced according to this known method that is close to 11/2 times the width of the press die. The purpose of the invention is to eliminate this disadvantage of the known method.
The method according to the invention for producing sound tape matrices BEZW. -patrizen is characterized in that a sound trace tape is produced by galvanophastic precipitation, which is narrower and thinner than the final die respectively to be produced. Patrix, but wider than the width of the scarf. Oil track bundle, and that this sound track tape is inserted into a wider metal tape,
whose edge parts BEZW the strength of the die to be produced. Have patrix, and in its central part has a recess corresponding to the cross section of the electroforming tape produced.
The method is expediently carried out in such a way that the sound traces band is generated in the galvanic bath up to half of the required strength, and the band obtained in this way is attached to the middle part of a wider, equally strong metal band, the free edge parts of which touch their edges are folded over with those of the 'sound track tape.
For the production of press or embossing matrices for the production of very large series of sound tapes, an original matrices produced according to this method can be provided with an oxide layer on the writing side and then used in an electroplating bath as a cathode to produce the sound track band of a male mold will. If necessary, after processing its edges, this can in turn be inserted into a band provided with a recess.
From the patrix band obtained in this way, a strong, nickel-plated and chrome-plated pressed or Embossing die are generated.
The sound trace tape is expediently fed continuously to a uniformly moving, heated band provided with a recess, while simultaneously coating its writing side with a protective coating to prevent tarnishing and a reverse side with soldering grease, and both bands are pressed together from their point of contact subject.
To carry out this part of the process, a device is preferably used which is equipped with a device for continuously folding over the edge parts of a uniformly moving strip, a device for uniformly feeding and inserting the soundtrack tape into the channel formed by the folded edge parts,
a heating device arranged between the folding device and the feed point of the Sehallspurenband is provided for the non-worn strip and a compressing device arranged behind the feed point for the two combined strips.
Here, the device for feeding the sound trace tape can have organs for applying a protective paste to the writing side of the tape and organs for applying soldering grease to the back of the tape. The compressing device arranged behind the feed point of the sound trace tape expediently consists of individual rolls under spring pressure.
In the following, the method, a device for carrying out the method and a Ma trizen- respectively. Male band according to the invention explained for example.
Fig. 1 shows in plan view and in section a piece of an inscribed original sound tape, Fig. 2 shows in plan view and in section the sound trace tape generated by the sound tape of Fig. 1 for the original matrix after detachment from the original reverberation band, and Fig. 3, also in plan view and in section, the cut sound trace tape.
FIG. 4 shows in plan view and in section a piece of a new band provided with recesses, and FIG. 5 shows in plan view and in section the band of FIG. 4 with the inserted sound tracer band of FIGS. 3, 6 illustrates the means for inserting the soundtrack tape into the recessed tape and making the latter.
The original sound tape consists, for example, of a nitrocellulose tape 1 and a layer of wax 2 lying on it, into which the sound grooves 3 are cut. After the writing, the tape is graphitized or otherwise provided with a conductive coating on its writing side. Here, the tape is placed in a galvanic bath and the conductive coating on its writing side is connected to the power source of the bath.
The indicated clamping devices 4, which reach beyond the edge of the conductive surface layer, are used for this purpose.
The copper deposit now generated in the galvanic bath forms an acoustic trace band between the clamping devices 4 on the graphitized surface of the original sound band, and the deposit continues until the strength of the sound trace band is half that which is deemed necessary for the die has reached.
The tape is then removed from the original sound tape; it then has the shape shown in FIG. 2 and is denoted by 5. Its edges 6 are irregular; the sound tracks, which had the shape of Ril len 3 in the original Hallhande, are formed by the ribs 7.
The sound trace tape 5 is now trimmed at the edges (Fix. 3).
As can be seen from FIGS. 1-3, the width of the sound trace tape has significantly lost compared to the width of the wax layer of the original sound tape. Both through the electroplating process and through the processing of the edges, the band 5 has become much narrower than the wax layer 2 of the carrier layer 1 of the original sound band.
This loss of width is now compensated for by the band provided with a recess. A length of such tape is shown in FIG. It consists of a glat th copper tape 8, the edge parts 9 of which are folded over. The tape 8 has the same thickness as the sound trace tape 5 of FIG. 3, so it has half in its central part and the full strength of the matrix tape to be produced in its edge parts.
The sound trace tape 5 is now inserted into the recess formed by the folded edges 9 of the tape 8 with the sound writing side facing outwards and its back is soldered to the bottom of the recess. This is shown in Fig. 5 represents.
Through the connection, a Ma trizenband is created, which has the desired strength and a much greater width than the band 5 produced by electroplating. Only part of the matrix needs to be produced by electroplating.
The assembled matrix of FIG. 5 is now provided with an oxide layer on its writing side. for example by silvering the writing side and subsequent oxidation of the silver layer in a bath consisting of a solution of iodine and bromine in alcohol.
The die is then placed back into the electroplating bath and a Sühallspurenband is produced from it for a patrix, which after it has been trimmed at the edges is narrower than the die. In order to compensate for this loss of width, this sound-apure band is also used in the manner described above. Band inserted according to FIG. 4 and soldered to this band.
The template produced in this way is in turn provided with an oxide layer on its writing side and introduced into the galvanic bath in which it produces a template. This then has such a width that they BEZW for pressing. Embossing of sound bands can be used.
The press or Embossing matrix is either produced in full strength in the galvanic bath, or only a band with a fraction of this strength is produced, which is fastened on a band that has the missing matrix thickness. The press die is then subjected to nickel-plating and chrome-plating and is then ready for use.
The insertion of the sound trace tape into the tape provided with a recess and the soldering of these two tapes mitein other is expediently carried out in a device which is shown schematically in FIG. This device comprises a drum 10 on which a drawn metal strip 8 is wound; the cross-section of this band is illustrated at 11. A pair of rollers 12 leads the tape to a folding device 13 in which the edge portions 9 of the tape are folded umge. After leaving the folding device, the tape has the illustrated cross section at 14, which corresponds to that of FIG.
The tape then goes through another pair of rollers 15, behind which it is heated by any device 16.
The sound trace tape 5 is wound onto a drum at 17 and runs over the rollers 18, 19 and 20 to the entry point of the roller pair 21, 22, between which the tape 8 also passes. At 23 a device is indicated which provides the writing side of the sound trace tape with a coating that prevents the sound traces from starting under the influence of the heat required for soldering the tapes 5 and 8. The paint is water-soluble and is washed off again after the two bands have been soldered. At 24, a device is indicated which smears the back of the sound spurenba.ndes with soldering grease.
The soundtrack tape is inserted through the rollers 21, 22 into the recess of the tape, and behind the rollers 21, 22 spring-loaded individual rollers 25 are arranged above and below the two tapes 5, 8, which is provided on its back with soldering grease Press the sound track tape 5 onto the heated tape 8. After passing through the roller system 25, the belts 5 and 8 are firmly connected to one another. The cross section of the finished matrix band BEZW. The male band is illustrated at 26.
It can of course be galvanically generated a Sehallspurenband whose strength has a different fraction of the neces sary total thickness, and this band can be used in a band, the edge parts of the strength of the produce the die BEZW. Have patrix, and which has a recess in its middle part, the depth of which is equal to the thickness of the galvanically generated sound trace band.
