Electrically welding machine. The object of the invention is an electrically welding machine, comprising a transformer, and characterized in that it has an electrode holder fixed to the frame of the machine and an electrode holder movable with respect to said frame, by the fact that this second electrode holder is integral with the coil of the transformer secondary and that this coil can be moved without turning inside the coil of the primary of the transformer, in the axis of the latter , all in such a way that the electrode mounted in the movable electrode holder, as well as the electrode mounted in the fixed electrode holder,
are located on the same vertical axis and that the electrode mounted in the movable electrode holder can be moved away and closer to the other electrode along said vertical axis when moving the coil of the secondary in the axis of the coil of the primary.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example and schematically, one embodiment of the machine forming the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 is an elevational view in section of the machine.
Fig. 2 is a section along II-II of fig.1. Fig. 3 is a section along III-III of FIG. 1.
The machine shown comprises a transformer 1 contained in a casing 2 which forms part of the frame 3 of the machine. The transformer 1 comprises a primary coil 4 and a secondary coil 5. The latter is placed in the axis of the primary coil and can be moved along this axis. This secondary coil 5 is of square section and slides in openings of corresponding section of the transformer casing, openings located on either side of the primary coil, so that the secondary coil can move axially, but cannot rotate relative to the primary coil.
Around each of the openings guiding the secondary coil are arranged four ga lets 6, as can be seen more particularly in FIG. 3, each of these rollers rolling on one of the faces of the coil in order to guide the latter in its translational movement, while preventing its rotation relative to the primary coil.
The secondary coil 5 is extended upwards by a rod 7 of circular section on which is mounted an electrode holder 8 movable with said secondary coil. This electrode holder 8 can be adjusted in position on the rod 7 by means of a clamping screw 9 which allows the electrode holder 8 to be moved around the rod 7 or along the latter. An electrode 10 is mounted at the end of the electrode holder 8 and is held in place by means of a tightening screw 11.
The electrode holder 8 is arranged such that, when the secondary coil 5 is moved inside the primary coil, along the vertical axis of the latter, the movable electrode 10 also moves vertically, following a axis parallel to the axis of the primary and secondary coils. A fixed electrode holder 12 is integral with the frame of the machine. In this electrode holder 12 is mounted an electrode 13 which is arranged on the vertical axis along which the mobile electrode 10 moves. Perfect coincidence between the axis of displacement of the mobile electrode and the axis of the Fixed electrode can be obtained by adjusting the position of the electrode holder 8 around the rod 7.
The lower end of the secondary coil 5 is connected, via a spring 14 and a rod 15, to a pedal 16 which therefore makes it possible to move the secondary coil downwards and, consequently, to bring the movable electrode 10 closer to the fixed electrode 13. When the pedal 16 is released, the secondary coil 5 is returned upwards by the action of a counterweight 17.
The primary coil 4 of transformer 1 is supplied from a network 18, by two conductors 19 and 20. On the conductor 19 is interposed a switch actuated by a relay 21.
The rod 15 carries two contacts 22 intended to cooperate with two contacts 23 mounted on a lever 24 pivoted at 25 to the frame 3 of the machine. When the pedal 16 is applied, the contacts 22 are applied to the contacts 23 in order to close a circuit controlling the operation of a time device 26. The purpose of this device is to trigger the relay 21 after a determined time and thus adjusts the welding time.
The position of the lever 24 carrying the contacts 23 can be adjusted by means of a steering wheel 27. It is thus possible to adjust the pressure on the parts to be welded engaged between the electrodes 10 and 13 when the contacts 22 cooperate with the contacts. 23. This pressure is obtained by means of the spring 14 interposed between the secondary coil 5 and the rod 1.5. A rod 28, one end of which is connected to the lever 24 acts by its other end on a needle 29 moving in front of a dial 30 in order to indicate said pressure.
The fixed electrode 13 is connected to the secondary coil 5 of the transformer by means of a flexible cable 31.
We could obviously provide other embodiments in which the secondary coil could have another square section and in which the guiding of the secondary coil and the means preventing the rotation of this coil would be other than those shown.
