Sehalteinriehtung on Brennkraftmasehinen for the starter of the same. The invention relates to a switching device on internal combustion engines for the starter motor of the same, in which the circuit of the starter motor is controlled by a centrifugal switch for automatic restarting. Starting devices with such centrifugal switches are known.
The centrifugal switches used so far, however, have the disadvantage that on the one hand they interrupt the circuit of the starter motor too early when starting and on the other hand they switch on again too early when the speed of the machine drops.
The aim of the invention is to avoid the after parts of the known devices. This is achieved by using an astatic centrifugal switch, which on the one hand only switches off the starter after a speed has been reached that is at least a third higher than the speed required to start the machine, and on the other hand only closes the starter circuit again at a speed which is at most half the cut-off speed.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown.
Fig. 1 shows a circuit diagram of the elec trical ignition and starting device of an internal combustion engine. In Figs. 2 and 3, a centrifugal switch is shown in the on and off position, and Fig. 4 shows an example of the installation of the centrifugal switch.
In the circuit diagram, 10 is the battery, 11 is the ignition coil and 12 is the starter motor of the internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. The starter motor is connected to the battery by an electro-magnetically operated switch 13. The actuating coil 14 of the magnetic switch 13 is connected to the battery via the ignition switch 15 with which the ignition coil is switched on. A centrifugal switch 16 is also located in the circuit of the coil 14.
The illustrated centrifugal switch has. a base plate 20 on which two bolts 21 as axes of rotation for centrifugal weights 22 are attached diametrically with respect to this center point at the same distance from the center of the plate. The two flyweights have the shape of a circular sector and are arranged in such a way that in their rest position their center of gravity is closer to the controller axis than their pivot point, with the line connecting their center of gravity with their pivot point with the connection line A between the controller axis and the pivot point includes an angle which is preferably less than <B> 10 '</B>.
A coil spring 23 serves as a return spring, one end of which is attached to the base plate and the other to one of the weights. In the rest position, the weights are on stop pin 24, through which the rest position of the weights described above is determined. The weights are coupled to one another by means of a rod 25.
On one of the two flyweights, a cam 26 is attached, through which a switching arm 27, which is mounted rotatably on the base plate, is controlled. A grinding brush 28 is seated on the arm and cooperates with a slip ring 29 which is fastened in an insulated manner to the housing of the internal combustion engine. The insulated slip ring is connected via an electrical conductor to the coil 14 of the magnetic switch 13, while the brush with the switching arm 27 is connected to ground.
As can be seen from FIG. 2 and has already been described above, the distance of the center of gravity from the center line A and from the axis of rotation of the base plate is initially very small. As a result, the torque generated by the flyweights when rotating around the base plate is only large enough to overcome the counterforce of the return spring 23 at a relatively high speed. As soon as the flyweights begin to swing out, the torque increases rapidly, even if the speed remains the same, because both the lever arm of the centrifugal force and the distance between the centrifugal weight and the axis of rotation of the centrifugal switch increase.
The weights therefore swing quickly to the end position. In the deflection end position of the flyweights (Fig. 3) their focal points lie approximately on the circle passing through the weight pivot points, the center of which lies on the axis of rotation of the controller. The deflection of the flyweights is expediently limited so that it is less than 90. In this situation, therefore, accelerations and delays in the flyweights, which can occur due to the uneven running of the machine, are taken from the pivot pin.
The centrifugal weights only return from the end position when the speed of the base plate has dropped to a low value, because in the end position the lever arm of the centrifugal force and the distance of the center of gravity from the center of the plate is so great that the torque of the centrifugal weights itself is Speeds that are far below the speed at which the flyweights were previously out of their rest position, is even greater than the opposing torque generated by the return spring.
You can of course add the centrifugal switch to each shaft that is constantly coupled to the internal combustion engine, e.g. B. also to the light machine shaft. It is only essential that it is set up in such a way that its weights do not deflect until the internal combustion engine has reached a speed during or after starting at which it will certainly continue to run by itself, which is usually at 300 to 400 revolutions per minute Case is.
It is also important that the centrifugal governor parts are dimensioned and arranged in such a way that the feedback force can only return the weights to the rest position at a speed that is far below the speed at which the internal combustion engine can run on its own. It is useful, this speed is very low, for. B. to 50 revolutions per minute to choose so that the starter can mesh without endangering its parts.
In Fig. 4 the installation of the centrifugal switch is shown in a V-belt disk seated on the crankshaft 40 of the internal combustion engine for driving auxiliary devices .41. An insulating washer 42 with a shoulder 43, onto which the slip ring 29 is pushed, is attached to the housing of the internal combustion engine.
