Description
Nitrating tank. Nitriding tanks, in which the workpieces to be subjected to nitriding hardening, are exposed to the influence of nitrogen-releasing agents at elevated temperatures, have hitherto been made from austenitic chrome-nickel steel alloys that do not have a decomposing effect on the nitriding gas.
The aim of the invention is to create nitriding containers which do not require chemically neutral steel alloys with a high nickel or chromium content for their manufacture.
This purpose is achieved according to the invention in that the nitriding containers are made of a heat-resistant steel and are provided with a lining made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. It has been shown that the aluminum has no harmful influence on the nitrating gases. You can therefore come into contact with the nitriding part of the nitriding container z.
B. from aluminum sheet or an alloy consisting essentially of aluminum. In order to achieve sufficient strength of the nitriding container at the nitriding temperature, any heat-resistant steel that does not need to be neutral to the nitriding gases can be used to manufacture the outer part of the nitriding container.
The heat-resistant steel alloys used can contain, for example, i - 10% chromium and optionally up to 5% silicon, up to 3% aluminum, up to 3% tungsten, up to 3% molybdenum individually or in groups. B. a steel he showed that has up to 0.1% carbon, about 6% chromium and the usual contents of silicon and manganese.
In Fig. 1 of the drawing, a nitriding container according to the invention is shown in longitudinal section. FIG. 2 shows the cross section according to II-II of FIG.
The container as well as its cover consist of an outer layer 1 made of some kind of heat-resistant steel and a lining 2 made of sheet aluminum or aluminum. made of an aluminum alloy. A tube 4 is used to accommodate the thermocouple, while the tubes and 6 respectively for the supply. Discharge of nitriding gases are determined.
