Gegenstand des vorliegenden Zusatzpatentes  ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines     Methin-          farbstoffes,    welches dadurch gekennzeichnet  ist, dass man     p-Dimethylaminobenzaldehyd    mit       Cyanessigsäureisooctylester    der Formel

    umsetzt.  Der neue Farbstoff färbt     Celluloseester     und     -äther    in sehr klaren,     grünstichig    gelben  Tönen.

   Er besitzt ein     hervorragendes    Zieh  vermögen auf     Acetatseide    und sehr gute     Nass-          echtheiten.     



       Beispiel:     233 g     Cyanessigsäureisooctylester    vom       Kp.s    l18-123   C     (erhältlich    durch     Vereste-          rung    von     Cyanessigsäure    mit     Isooctylalkohol     oder durch     Veresterung    von Chloressigsäure mit       Isooctylalkohol    und Umsetzen des     Chloratoms       mit     Alkalicyanid    nach     bekannten    Verfahren)

    werden mit 149 Gewichtsteilen     para-Dimethyl-          amino-benzaldehyd    in 400 Gewichtsteilen     lTe-          thanol    unter Zusatz von 0,4 Gewichtsteilen       Piperidin        mehrere    Stunden zum Sieden erhitzt,  bis die     Farbstoffbildung    beendet ist. Das Metha  nol wird     abdestilliert.    Der zurückbleibende  Farbstoff färbt     Celluloseester    und     -äther    in  sehr klaren,     grünstichig    gelben Tönen.

   Er  besitzt ein hervorragendes Ziehvermögen auf       Acetatseide    und sehr gute     Nassechtheiten.
