Exhaust regulator device. The invention a. for object an escapement regulator device comprising a regulator ba lance cooperating with a regulating spring formed by a flexible blade.
We have. already recommended, without obtaining satisfactory re- s.ul.tatq, to provide such. spring regulating the fast-moving escapements intended for certain time apparatus or instruments;, for example: escapements for mechanical rockets in time of artillery projectiles.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that 'the regulating blade is arranged above the regulating balance, following: a diametral plane of the latter, one of its ends being attached to a fixed support, the the other end being integral with the regulating balance and participating in the oscillating movements of the latter.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a section following the axis of the balance, while FIG. 2 is a section taken along line II-II of FIG. 1.
The drawing shows the regulating device of an anchor escapement for mechanical time rockets. _ The balance 3 is mounted by its axis 4, in a cage of the head of the projectile, so that its axis coincides with the axis of rotation of the projectile. Said cage comprises a plate 5 and a bridge 6, assembled with one another by means of a plate 7 having a cutout 8 in the shape of a circle,
concentric with the axis of rotation of the bahncier. The pendulum pivots are adjusted, one in plate 5 and the other in the. pla that 7. The hub of the balance comprises a pallet 9 passing through a concentric opening 5 'of the plate 5; this pallet constituting the anchor 9 'cooperating with the escape wheel (not shown).
On the rim @ of the balance is planted a piton 10 passing freely through; of the cutout S. In a notch of this pin is kept engaged, by a transverse pin 17, the end of the regulating spring. formed by a flexible blade 12 disposed above the plate 7. along a diameter of the balance.
The blade 12 is fixed by a pin 13, to an ear 14 of a pillar 15 driven into the plate 7. Between its point of attachment and its end, the reblating blade is taken in a fork 16 of a movable slide 17. in a slide 18 formed by a notch of a ba.rette 19 mounted on the plate 7 and fixed to the latter by a foot and two screws 20.
The slide 18 e.a oriented along a diameter of the balance 3, so that the fork 16 can be more or less close to the end of the regulating blade 12, by the displacement. of the slide 17 adjustable by means of a return screw 21 held axially in the pillar 15, by means of a screw 22.
The regulating blade 12 being clamped. in fork 16, the position of the slide determines the point of flexion and hence the operating length of the blade, which amounts to saying that the frequency of the balance, that is to say the number of its oscillations in the The unit of time can be adjusted by moving slide 17.
When the escapement is applied to a mechanical rocket, as in the example shown, the rim of the balance has two notches 23 diametrically opposed to one another. The pin is engaged in each of its notches. 24 of a mass?, 5 pivoted in 25 'on the plate 5 and subjected to the action of a return spring 26 always tending to keep the pin engaged in the notch 23 and thus ensure the immobility of the balance before the start of the stroke.
But, from the start of the shot, the projectile receives a tangential acceleration and rotates around its axis, which has the effect that the masses, _ 25, subjected to the action of centrifugal force. move away from the balance rim and release the latter. From then on, the pendulum moves. to oscillate. However, the means described above for blocking the balance are not essential, since the regulator device is also applicable to escapements from other time devices.
