Warm and cold air fan. If fans have been mentioned so far, they are mostly those that are used to generate the coolest possible air flow in summer. There are probably warm air devices that are also equipped with fans and radiators. However, their construction is usually such that they cannot be used as a room or table-top device for both purposes.
The present invention is intended to show how the problem can be solved in a simple manner: In FIG. 1, an exemplary embodiment is shown in a side view. The electric motor E is used to drive the fan impeller. The motor and the wheel are attached to the base S, and the whole thing looks like an ordinary cold air fan. The difference compared to the latter, however, is that the fan blades Y are well insulated from the motor axis and the other metal parts by the sleeve H.
The wings Y consist of nickel sheet metal or some other suitable material through which an electrical heating current is sent and which opposes this current with a certain resistance, whereby the wings Y heat up. On the sleeve H there are two slip rings R, insulated from one another, which are used to introduce or decrease the heating current. The two contacts C, for example two coal particles, carry the current from the rings R through suitable connections to the heatable fan blades V.
When the power to the motor E is switched on, an air flow in the direction of arrow a is generated by rotating the fan blades Y. If the heating current is switched on at the same time, the heated fan blades Y transfer the heat generated by direct contact and friction to the air flow a. : As the impeller is designed as a rotating radiator, a good and intensive utilization of the heat flow is made possible. The ring! 3 is used for the external connection or current transfer from one fan blade to the other. If you want to use the device for cooling in summer, you simply switch off the heating current and the desired purpose is achieved.
In practice, however, an additional arrangement will be required, which results from the fact that the air flow generated by a normal fan is quite strong for the refreshment desired in summer, while in winter or in the transition period a rather weak but the warmer air flow is desired. This is achieved in that by switching on a resistor in the circuit of the electric motor E, the latter can run with a lower number of revolutions. The circuit can be designed in such a way that the resistor provided to weaken the motor current is identical to the radiator resistor or is present as a separate resistor.
Fig. 2 illustrates a variant of the impeller in a schematic front view. In contrast to Fig. 1, the Ven tilatorflügel V are occupied with flat radiators A, and these in turn are connected to the slip rings. When the current is switched on, the heating elements A heat up and transfer their heat to the blades I ', which in turn release them through direct contact to the air flow.
Another variant of this device is shown in FIG. 3 in a side view. In contrast to the previous arrangement, the heating element is not rotatable here, but is instead firmly mounted as an incandescent element G in front of the impeller. The latter should be as bright and shiny as possible. In a rotating state, it then acts like a reflector that is radiated from the incandescent body G. While in the previous embodiments the main emphasis was placed on direct contact between the moving air and the rotating radiator, here the radiant effect of the blank rotating impeller is more in the foreground.
This radiation is indicated by the dashed lines b, while the air flow generated by the fan is in turn indicated by the arrow a. With regard to the use of this Vorrich device in summer nud in winter, the same applies what has already been said for the previous Ausfüh insurance examples. The parts marked with K represent a protective cage covering the vane wheel and the incandescent body at the front.
