Fig. 1 zeigt eine Ansicht,
Fig. 2 einen Schnitt nach Linie A-B der Fig. 1,
Fig. 4 ein Diagramm.
Temperature regulator with an adjusting device which acts on the bimetal element and is intended for setting the temperature degrees.
Temperature regulators are provided with an adjusting device for setting to any temperature level, which consists of a rotary knob located on the outside of the regulator housing, provided with a pointer, movable over a scale and a toothed gear connected on the one hand to the rotary knob and on the other hand, for example, to a drum containing a bimetal element. In the case of temperature regulators of this type with a large setting range, the bimetallic element and the toothed gear are subjected to severe stress in the two extreme positions of the adjusting device.
It is therefore possible under certain circumstances that the bimetal is severely deformed and the teeth of the gear break out.
The invention relates to a temperature controller with an adjusting device which acts on the bimetallic origan and is intended for setting the temperature degrees, in which the above-mentioned inconveniences are largely eliminated in that the adjusting device is forcefully connected to the bimetal element via a resilient intermediate member connected is. The resilient intermediate member can preferably be effective in both directions of rotation of the adjusting device. Such an arrangement can have two scissor legs, the free ends of which are connected to one another by a spring and between which there is a pin of the adjusting device and a pin of the bimetallic element.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in FIGS.
Fig. 1 shows a view
Fig. 2 is a section along line A-B of Fig. 1,
3 shows a schematic view of the scissor legs with tension spring and
4 is a diagram.
On a shaft 1, the two legs 2, 3 are loosely rotatably pushed, their free ends 4, 5 are connected to one another by a tension spring 6 and between which there is a pin 7 of the toothed sector 8 and a pin protruding through a recess 9 of the toothed sector 8 10 of a drum 11 is located.
A bimetallic spiral 12 is provided in the drum 11, which is fastened with its one end 13 to the drum 11 and with its end 14 to the axle 1. The toothed sector 8 is coupled to a toothed wheel 15, on whose axis 16 the rotary knob 19 provided with the pointer 17 and movable via a scale 18 is seated.
According to FIG. 1, the pointer 17 of the rotary knob 19 points to the scale mark 60.
The temperature controller will therefore respond at the temperature to be monitored, that is to say actuate either a contact or a valve. If the temperature controller is to be set to a higher response value, for example 80, it is necessary to set the pointer 17 of the rotary knob 19 to the scale value 80. By this rotation of the rotary knob 19, the toothed sector 8 is rotated in the opposite direction of the clockwise via the pinion 15. This rotary movement is transmitted through the pin 7 of the toothed sector 8 to the scissor arm 2, the tension spring 6, the scissor arm 3 and the pin 10 on the drum 11 and thus tension the bi-metal spiral spring 12.
If the adjustment knob 19 is turned clockwise by an even greater amount, ie if it is set to the scale value 100, the counter torque of the bimetal spring 12 increases even more. At a certain value of this counter-torque, which can be the case when the pointer 17 of the rotary knob 19 points approximately to the scale value 90, the two scissor levers 2, 3 are pushed apart and the tension spring 6 is tensioned. With a further rotation of the rotary knob 19 up to the scale value 100, the broute part of the rotary movement is therefore absorbed by the spring 6. The pin 10 of the drum 11 is then removed from the scissor lever 2 by a certain amount.
If the bimetal spiral 12 heats up? their counter torque will be lower.
The pin 10 of the drum 11 will accordingly come closer and closer to the scissor lever 2, the spring 6 being slowly relaxed again. After the spring 6 is relaxed, the pin 10 of the drum 11 will then come to rest against the scissor lever 2. If the bimetal spiral 12 is heated further to the set value 100, it will ultimately have been set so that it carries out the switching process.
The process is similar when the rotary knob 19 is set to the scale value 20. So up to a certain torque, the resilient intermediate member behaves rigidly, with the game between the pins 7.10 and the scissor levers 2.3 is practically zero. If the torque rises above a certain amount, which depends on the forces required by the schooling process, the intermediate link becomes elastic, in both directions of rotation and the process takes place almost smoothly due to the particularly advantageous design of the intermediate link.
The resilient intermediate member should expediently have characteristics that are as flat as possible.
As can be seen from Fig. 3, the effective lever arm a decreases with increasing angle a. If the tensile force and moment of the spring 6 are now assumed to be 100% at an angle a = 30, the diagram according to FIG. 4 results. From this diagram it can be seen that the moment increases by only 45 S, while the tensile force of the spring 8 shows an increase of 155%. From this it can be clearly seen that, due to the arrangement according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the rotary movement of the rotary knob 19 is for the most part absorbed by the tension spring 6 at a certain value of the counter-torque of the bimetal spring 12.
A deformation of the bimetallic spiral 12 or a breaking out of the teeth of the ten-sector 8 will therefore not occur.
The invention can be used with any type of temperature regulator, for example with room, contact and smoke gas thermostats.
