Zusammengesetztes Blatt.
Composite sheet. The present invention relates to a novel composed sheet, which has a base for example made of paper pulp and at least one coating made of a film of waterproof material.
A waterproof cellulose derivative film, such as cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, urea-formaldehyde or vinyl resins, can advantageously be used for the coating.
In the drawing, some execution examples of the subject invention are Darge provides.
1, 3, 5, 7 and 10 are sections through the ends of sheets, while Figs. 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9 are horizontal sections through different embodiments of containers made from sheets according to the cited figures.
As can be seen from Fig. 1 and 2, the base 1 made of cardboard, which can also have the shape of a strip, a coating 2, formed by a film made of cellulose acetate or a similar waterproof material. The cover of cellulose acetate or the like is bent around a whole 3 of the base, as indicated at 4, so that this whole is completely protected.
The parts forming the composite sheet are connected to one another by a synthetic resin adhesive that is flexible when set, such as hydrolyzed vinyl acetate.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3, 4, one side of the pad is completely covered with a coating of cellulose acetate. In this variant, the greater part of that side of the base which is opposite the side of the base provided with the film coating is uncovered.
As can be seen from Fig. 5, 6, the end of the cover can also be folded over to the opposite gante 6 of the pad 1, so that opposing edges of the pad are placed around. According to the embodiment according to FIGS. 7, 8, the coating is pulled out over that edge of the base which is opposite the edge around which it is wrapped.
In certain cases, parts of both sides of the base can be covered with a film, as indicated at 7 in FIG. The cover 7 can either be provided with a protruding part or with a strip 9 placed around the edge 6.
In all embodiments, it can be advantageous to use a water, acid, or alkali-resistant adhesive. Hydrolyzed vinyl acetate has proven to be particularly suitable.
It has been found to be particularly expedient to use a synthetic resin adhesive which is able to partially dissolve the thin coating made of resistant material so that a firm connection of the parts to be connected is guaranteed. Solvents that can be added to the adhesive for this purpose are, for example, for cellulose acetate or cellulose nitrate films, acetone, chloroform or ether.
The illustrated sheets enable the manufacture of containers according to FIGS. 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9 by either bringing a sheet into a round shape or by winding a strip spirally onto a core.
The cover can be glued to the base, which consists, for example, of cardboard, using an adhesive that resists moisture and the action of acid or alkali, such as hydrolyzed vinyl acetate or thermoplastic compounds made of phenol-cresol - Formaldehyde in plastic form.
If the manufactured container is to contain alcohol, vinyl synthetic resin must not be used, since it is soluble in alcohol, and in this case either B-Bakelite or cellulose acetate or cellulose nitrate solution is expediently used.
Containers of the type shown can be used for packaging and storing food, lemon juice, vinegar, jams, etc., as well as shampoo and the like, and the film is in these cases made of a 3laterial, which contains the acids contained in the packaged substance or alkalis.
