Process for increasing the adhesive strength of resin mixtures.
It is known to use sticky resin compounds in painting and varnishing technology for very specific purposes as well as in gelling.
You also need sticky resin mixtures, such as. B. Mastic solutions, for
EMI1.1
such sticky resin solutions are used by dressings.
It has now been found in all of these resin solutions. that their stickiness is only slight and very uncertain, which is especially true when attaching beards
EMI1.2
Find. In the case of adhesives such as beard glue, which are applied directly to (lie on the skin. However, it is advisable not to use a solvent such as chloroform, which is capable of irritating the skin;).
To explain the Ernnduog with an example. serve the following:
15 liters of rosin
5 parts of Sandarac are in
EMI1.3
The above invention offers a particular advantage in its application to the recently developed by Dr. v. Öttingen proposed mastic dressings that are made with mastic. Usually chloroform was used for the solution,
EMI1.4
Amount is retained by the mastic, which may cause the adhesive effect of the mastic dressings made with such chloroform solutions, but which, on the other hand, causes irritation on the skin, which can degenerate into very unpleasant side effects.
It has already been proposed here to replace the chloroform with benzene and the like, but the solutions produced with it were significantly inferior to the chloroform mastix solutions in terms of adhesive strength and also in terms of duration.
EMI1.5
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
EMI2.1
It is then possible not only to make the mastic plaster solutions cheaper, but also to refrain from using the expensive and dangerous chloroform when preparing them, which, as mentioned above, has also shown various disadvantages in medical practice,
To explain this embodiment of the invention in more detail, serve the following:
If a solution of equal parts of mastic and rosin in benzene is prepared, it was found that the residue remaining after evaporation of the excess benzene has practically insufficient adhesive strength, which also does not last long.
However, if small amounts, such as about 50 / ", of a liquid ester of an aromatic acid are added, the bond strength is significantly increased, so that it is sufficient for the most heavily stressed dressings and the like and its duration is almost unlimited.
Example.
15 parts mastic and
15 parts rosin are in
Dissolved 70 parts of benzene and
5 parts of salicylic acid methyl or ethyl ester are added.
Instead of benzene, another volatile resin solvent can be used, e.g. B. gasoline, petroleum ether and the like. That are not able to exert any irritating effects on the skin.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for increasing the bond strength of resin mixtures, characterized in that relatively small amounts of liquid esters of aromatic acids, in particular salicylic acid, benzoic acid and the like, are added to resin mixtures.
