Description

The invention relates to a process for the production of linoleum substitute compounds, which are distinguished from the known ones above all by the fact that with him neither oxidized linseed oil nor any other Oils are used. By eliminating these expensive and sometimes difficult to obtain Starting materials are a substantial saving compared to the known working methods achieved. In addition, the method has the merit that the product obtained is instantaneous is ready for use and does not require a longer storage and drying time like linoleum, so that time, storage space and drying devices can be saved. Finally, the new product does not need a base made of paper or fabric, if this can also be used if desired.
According to the invention, a mixture of three components is made, viz firstly, more open with alkaline lyes and with carbon disulfide vapors treated cellulose (viscose), secondly the rubber-like product, which is produced by heating is obtained from carbohydrates or glues with glycerine and, thirdly, saponify Resins. This mixture is heated until a viscous mass is formed. It can be used in a known manner with hardening agents, like formaldehyde ο. Like., Are treated, however, a sufficient elasticity is maintained must become. The product obtained is then kneaded in the manner known for linoleum with the addition of cork flour and rolled, with the cork flour partially or even completely replaced by other fillers, such as Sawdust or other finely ground cellulose can be replaced. When rolling out the mass can be placed on a base made of paper or fabric, but this is not necessary.
Some of the substances mentioned are used in the manufacture of barrel floor coverings has already been proposed. However, it was not always about them Production of an actual linoleum substitute, and the overall process described has not yet become known. First and foremost is avoiding the use of any oil and manufacturing it an immediately ready-to-use mass completely new.

First the three components of the mixture are made.
ι. ι 800 g of sulphite pulp are mixed with a Solution of 720 g of caustic soda mixed in 3 600 g of water and treated with the vapors, obtained from 1,800 g of carbon disulfide by careful heating to about 46 ° until a thick syrup has formed. The treatment lasts about 24 hours and must be done in the absence of air as far as possible in order to absorb carbon dioxide from the Avoid air. Instead of the sulphite pulp, another cellulose can of course be used will.
Statt des Leims können andere Leimstoffe oder auch Kohlehydrate, wie Zucker, benutzt werden.2. 55 ° S glue is swollen in about ι Ι water, after removing the excess water, ι 100 g of glycerine are added and the mixture is heated to the boil for about 30 minutes. After cooling, a rubber-like mass is obtained. Instead of the glue, other glue substances or carbohydrates such as sugar can be used.
3. 800 g Kolophonium, Kumaronharz oder ähnliche Harze werden geschmolzen und mit 160 g Ätznatronlösung vom spezifischen Gewicht 1,3 und 25 g Ammoniaklösung des Handels etwa 45 Minuten zum Sieden erhitzt, bis sich ein klarer Lack bildet.3. 800 g rosin, coumarone resin or similar resins are melted and mixed with 160 g caustic soda solution with a specific weight of 1.3 and 25 g ammonia solution des Handels heated to the boil for about 45 minutes until a clear varnish forms.
The three products obtained are intimately mixed and cooked for about 1 hour until one viscous mass is created. Towards the end of the heating, 5 g of 35 percent strength can be used for hardening Formaldehyde solution can be added.
Instead of formaldehyde, chromium salts, alum, tannin or the like can be used. In In any case, the working conditions are to be chosen so that the end product is sufficient remains elastic.
Von der erhaltenen Masse werden 18 Teile mit 18 Teilen Korkmehl oder Holzmehl und ] Teilen eines gepulverten Farbkörpers gemischt und das teigige Gemisch in bekannter Weise geknetet und ausgewalzt.18 parts of the mass obtained are mixed with 18 parts of cork flour or wood flour and] Parts of a powdered color body mixed and the doughy mixture in known Way kneaded and rolled out.
The specified proportions can depending on the individual case and the desired Properties of the product are changed.
