Abstract

146,367. Jeschke, R. Dec. 17, 1918, [Convention date]. Fibrous plastic compositions.-A composition for making linoleum consists of cellulose treated with alkaline lyes and vapour of carbon bisulphide, a rubber-like product obtained by heating glue or carbohydrates with glycerine, and saponified resin. These ingredients are mixed, heated, treated with hardening-agents, such as formaldehyde, chrome salts, alum, tannin &c., and kneaded and rolled up with cork meal, saw dust, or other finely powdered cellulose, and colouring- matter. The mass can be applied to a backing of paper or not, as desired.
