Machine-outil.
Machine tool. In all machine tools such as milling, drilling or boring machines, an automatic feed device gives the tool spindle a slow axial feed during work. The work pass being finished, it is advantageous to withdraw the spindle, that is to say to move it away from the workpiece, as quickly as possible to reduce the time spent on this non-productive movement. In conventional constructions, this rapid release is generally effected by hand.
However, if the masses to be moved are considerable, or they are too far from the operator to be conveniently operated, a mechanical control becomes desirable.
The object of the present invention is to achieve this advantage. It concerns a machine-tool provided with a working spindle with an axial displacement device placed under the control of two control mechanisms, one of which produces the slow advance of the spindle and the other, with an independent electric motor. , the rapid decline of it.
This machine tool is characterized in that the second of the aforementioned control mechanisms comprises two juxtaposed parts mounted rotatably on a common shaft and one of which can slide on the latter, the opposite faces of these parts having inclined planes between which balls are interposed, further characterized by an electromagnet placed under the control of the aforementioned electric motor, and controlling a clutch disposed between the second control mechanism and the axial displacement device, the all so that switching on the motor simultaneously produces, on the one hand, the separation of the axial displacement device from the first control mechanism,
this by virtue of the displacement of the aforementioned sliding part and, on the other hand, the coupling of this axial displacement device with the second control mechanism, this by actuation of the aforementioned electromagnet. The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example and partially, one embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a partly sectional elevation view of the spindle head of said embodiment. Fig. 2 is a large-scale section through II-II of fi-. 1. Figs. 3 and 4 show a detail in two operating positions.
In the drawing, 1 is the frame of the. spindle head and 2 is the spindle carrying the tool 3 and rotating (without being able to slide) in the sleeve 4, which is mounted in the frame. 1, so as to be able to move axially without turning. This axial displacement is obtained by a device comprising the mesh 5 carried by the sleeve 4, the pinion 6 and the shaft 11 on which this pinion is fixed and which can rotate in the frame 1.
Fig. \? represents the rest or slow automatic feed pass of the spindle; then, the driving action, produced by a motor not shown, arrives through the worm 7 and is communicated to the wheel 8. The latter is coupled by the pistons 9 with the disc 10 which moves axially on the wheel. ar ber 11, but cannot turn relative. to the latter thanks to the sliding key 12; the latter, which can move in a longitudinal slot 11a of the shaft 11, is controlled by the rod 13 disposed in the axis of this shaft.
The worm 7 therefore causes the slow rotation of the pinion 6 and, consequently, the slow advance of the spindle 2 in the workpiece.
When the working pass is completed and without having to interrupt the rotation of the worm 7, the current of the electric motor 14 is started, which drives the. endless screw 15 and the toothed wheel 16. When the latter begins to rotate relative to the wheel 19, the balls 17 arranged between inclined planes 16a and 19a of the wheels 1.6 and 19 (fig. 3 and 4) and which are retained by a cage 18, pass from the position shown in FIG. 3 to that shown in fi, -. 4. The wheel 16 which can slide on the shaft 11 then undergoes an axial displacement to the left (fig. 2).
Via (the pushers 2 (1, this axial displacement is communicated to the disc 10 which is pushed to the left by a sufficient quantity to free itself from the pis tons 9. In this way, the device for axial displacement of bush 4 (and spindle 2) is separate from the slow feed control mechanism.
Simultaneously with the starting of the motor 14, and by the control of the same switch, an electric current is also launched in the electromagnet 21; the latter, by means of its frame 22 and of the lever 23, to which it is fixed, moves. towards the right the pinion 24 whose clutch claws 25 come to couple with the corresponding claws of the pinion 26. In this way, the toothed wheel 19 is coupled to that 27, which is keyed on the shaft 11.
The wheel 16 having come to abut axially against the wheel 8 cannot move further to the left and transmits its rotation to the wheel 1.9 by means of bills 17, which are still in the position shown in fig. 4. The movement of the screw 15 is transmitted, therefore, to the device for axial displacement of the spindle 2 and gives it a rapid backward movement, bringing this spindle into its lifting or disengaging position.
There is an advantage in automatically stopping spindle 2 when it reaches the end of the travel of this backward movement. For this purpose, it is. provided an electric switch 28 whose control member is a rotary arm 29 actuated by the upper part of the socket 4 (fig. 1). This switch 28, once actuated, cuts the current flowing in the electromagnet 21; the spring 30 ra then brings the lever 23 to the rest position and the claws 25 of the pinion 24 are released from the pinion 26. In this way and without the motor 14 having been stopped, the rapid movement of the spindle 2 is instantaneously interrupted is lying.
The levers 31 serve in the usual way for the manual slow advance control and actuate the sliding key 12 and the slide 10, so as to couple the shaft 11 to the automatic slow advance mechanism, wheel 8 and screw tangent 7, or to free it from it.
The aforementioned manually operated switch which launches the current in the motor 14 and the electromagnet 21 will preferably be placed at a distance from the spindle head, in the most suitable place for its operation. .
