Bremseinrichtung an Motorfahrzeugen.
Im Not falle, also wenn z.
Braking device on motor vehicles. The invention relates to a braking device on motor vehicles with two rear drive wheels. According to the invention, two wheel shoes are attached to a linkage and a cable in such a way that when driving the vehicle by actuating a lever from the driver's seat, both wheel shoes can be brought under the drive wheels from their rest position in which there is a wheel shoe in front of each rear wheel.
The drawing shows an example of the subject matter of the invention, namely Fig. 1 shows the device seen from below, Fig. 2 shows a side view of the same in the rest position and Fig. 3 shows a side view in the braking position. For the sake of a better overview, the motor vehicle parts are only indicated by dash-dotted lines.
A pivotable lever 1 on the vehicle frame, which can be formed, for example, as a pedal 2, but which can also be actuated by a hand lever or in any other suitable manner from the driver's seat, is under the on-soot of a spring 3 that moves it into the seeks to hold the position shown in FIG. 2, and is connected by a joint 4 to a fork lever 5, the fork ends 6 of which carry bolts 7 which can be slid in the manner of a crosshead in guide rails 8 and to which the rods 9 are hinged.
Each of the rods 9 is articulated to one of the wheel shoes 11 located in front of each of the drive wheels 10 in the rest position.
To be better. To ensure guidance of the wheel shoes 11, these are connected to one another by a transverse rod 12, on which a cable 16, guided via a roller 14 and connected to part 5 at point 15, engages. Furthermore, the hurried end of each of the rods 9 connected to a wheel shoe 11 is seen with a stop 17 which prevents the wheel shoes 11 from being too far downward in the position shown in FIG. 2 and from dragging on the roadway. In the wheel shoes 11 rollers 18 can be attached, the shape of which is adapted to the profile of the wheels 10, and which are secured by a free-wheeling locking device, e.g.
B. by a ratchet wheel with pawl attached to its edge, can only be rotated on one side, in such a way that they cannot rotate when the drive wheels 10 are rotated backwards against the direction of the arrow 19 (FIG. 3). The underside of the wheel shoes 11 can be equipped with any suitable, safe braking effect, even on slippery roads, which may be provided with an elastic covering made of rubber or some other suitable material to protect the road surface.
The device located in the position shown in FIG. 2 during normal driving does not hinder driving in any way and is almost invisible, so that it does not affect the appearance of the vehicles in any way. In case of emergency, so if z. B. fail the normal brakes or if the four wheels are blocked by too strong Brem sen and the car begins to skid, an actuation of the lever 1, z. B. by stepping on the pedal 2 in the direction of the arrow 20 to bring the wheel shoes 11 between the road and the rear wheels 10, whereupon the strongest braking effect takes place at the rear, which immediately brings the car in the straight direction again.
In order to free the stationary car from the lock, only the lever 1 needs to be released and the reverse gear to be switched on, whereupon, since the rollers 18 do not participate in the reverse rotation of the wheels 10, these wheels slide out of the wheel shoes and the device through the Spring 3 is returned to the position shown in FIG. The locking that can be carried out with this device is also the best protection against theft if this device can only be operated from inside the lockable car, or if it is somehow lockable itself.
