Description

Process for the preparation of an alkali-soluble condensation product. It has been found that valuable, alkali-soluble condensation products are obtained if polybasic carboxylic acids or their functional derivatives such as. B. chlorides or anhydrides with reactive aromatic tables containing an aliphatic or alicyclic radical with more than 10 0 atoms on the nitrogen, condensed.

The condensation is carried out in the usual way, for example in organic solvents such as benzene, chlorobenzene, etc., but particularly advantageously using the carboxylic acid anhydrides with or without the aid of condensing agents such as A1C1s, zlic12, etc.

The new, alkali-soluble condensation products form ointment-like masses which, when combined with water, result in highly foaming solutions with a pronounced emulsion, cleaning, wetting and softening effect.

They show particularly strong substantive properties, give the treated textiles, for example fibers made of regenerated cellulose, a soft, flowing handle and have the great advantages of being able to be used simultaneously with direct dyes in the dyebath and no lime soap deposits in hard water to cause.

The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of an alkali-soluble condensation product, characterized in that phthalic anhydride is condensed with oleylaniline. The sodium salt of the new condensation product forms a brown, waxy mass that is clearly soluble in water and is suitable as a plasticizer for native and regenerated cellulose.

Example: 69 parts of oleyl aniline and 35.5 parts of phthalic anhydride are dissolved in 200 parts of benzene and 27 parts > Parts of anhydrous zinc chloride added. Then condensation is carried out for 10 hours at 600 and hydrochloric acid gas is introduced during the condensation. After the reaction has ended, the benzene solution is filtered, washed several times with water and the azeotropic water benzene mixture is distilled off in vacuo. The residue is clearly soluble in alkali.
