Prepayment device insertion device. In prepayment counters, especially for inserting coins of different value and therefore having different diameters, it is necessary to provide the insertion slot for the larger coin and it is not, always easy to obviate. fraudulent handling when inserting intermediate coins.
An attempt would also be made either to introduce flexible wires or thin springs or also to attach a piece of handwheel to a wire in order to remove it afterwards after having been able to operate the insertion device.
The object of the present invention is to avoid these fraudulent manipulations owing to the fact that it makes possible a movement of the insertion mechanism only when a wedge-shaped slide pushed by a coin of regulatory size. : has closed completely, closing the insertion slot again.
Any coin or other object of similar shape having dimensions other than the regulatory diameter of a coin: will prevent any movement of the insertion mechanism as well as the extraction of the inserted object.
The drawing, fig. 1, -2 and 3, given by way of example, schematically represents an embodiment of this insertion device and the respective positions of the coin pieces with respect to the shutter and calibration slides, while the fig. 4 shows the locking device acting on the cams of an axis:
manipulation with a view to preventing any false manipulations, whether intentional or not.
In fig. 1 ,. a coin 34g is ready to be introduced into the insertion slot 1 and to press on the slide 2 resting on the wheel 7. As a result of the angle of the plane represented by the slide 3 , the wedge-shaped slide will slip away in the direction of the arrow.
The wings could just as easily be vertical. and the plan; push on the slide 2 tilted forward.
In fig. 2, three coins 34, small (p), medium (nz) and large (g) are represented in the respective positions which they occupy when they have reassembled the slide 2, each of the quantity corresponding to, its diameter. Slide 2 brings with it the calibration slide 5 along slide 6.
The coins are retained laterally by a double wall 4 forming a guide channel for the slides 2 and 5.
In fig. 3, the larger coin 34g is in its housing wedged between the calibration slide 5 and a toggle stop 8, which will slip out laterally in order to expel the coin in the cassette. But no manipulation will be possible as long as the shutter slide 2 has not completely closed the insertion slot 1 and a release lever 17 has not engaged in one of the openings 9 (g, m or p),
the respective positions of which are in the same relation as the diameters of the coins.
Fig. 4 schematically represents the locking device acting on the cams of the handling pin 13 as a function of the positions of the slides 2, 5.
If there is no inserted coin as shown in fig. 1, an action on the button 12, which has a fat friction device, will have no effect on the cam axle 13 due to the stopping of the cam 18 by the end of the release lever 17 in hammer shape, the opposite side of which is held against the side of the clamping slide 5.
As soon as a regular coin has been inserted as shown in fig. 3, the end of the release lever 17 will be in front of the slot 9g of the calibration slide 5.
A rotation of the pin 13 will push the release lever 17 into the slot 9g without further ado via the cam 18, and via the cam 16 the locking lever 10 will be pushed above. of the shutter slide 2 which will be blocked, pressed against the roller 7 until the axis 13 has completed a complete revolution.
During this operation, the cam 19 with increasing radius will act on the nose 31 of the stop-rocker 8 which will release the coin to let it fall into the cassette. The nose 31 causing the toggle stop to pivot again causes a double locking of the shutter slide 2 as shown in FIG. 3. After a full turn of the camshaft 13, the rocker returns to the starting position, ready to hold a new coin, and the nose 31 retreats from above the slide 2.
When the coin is completely expelled, the calibration slide 5 is released from the end of the lever 17 after one turn of the cam 18 and, when falling, it will act by its extension 33 on the inclined plane of the lower end of lever 11 disengaging the shutter slide 2 from the blocking of this lever 11.
If a non-regulatory size coin was inserted, the shutter slide would close normally; on the other hand, the end in the form of T of the lever 17 would not be any more vis-à-vis one of the openings 9 of the calibration slide 5 and any attempt to rotate the axis 13 would be prevented as a result of the catching of the lever 17 in the cam 18.
On the other hand, as long as a bad part remains under the slide 5, the shutter slide 2 can no longer be reopened, being blocked by the end of the lever 11.
The sink 11 will not be removed from its blocking position until the timing slide 5 has fallen back into the initial position as shown in FIG. 1.
However, the bad coin can be expelled by acting on the pusher 21 which will actuate the toggle stop 8 by means of an elbow extension so lidaire of the nose 31. A cam 32, with a single notch, wedged on the cam axle 13, prevents any action of the pusher 21 as soon as the cam axle is out of its starting position.
The end of the cam axle 13 carries three toothed wheels 35 (p, 7n, g) of which the number of teeth corresponds to the value of each of the coins inserted. and which .will be by. example in the ratios 10/10, 5/10 and 2/10 or even 12/12, 6/12 and 1/12.
The respective meshing is obtained in correlation with the position of the calibration slide 5 which, by means of a roller 24, acts on the levers 26, 25 producing the displacement (read sliding pinion 22 in the plane of the 'one of the three toothed wheels 35 (g, an or p) which, during the rotation of the cam axle 13,
transmit their angular movement to the pinion 23 and through the latter to a trigger cam and to a register indicating the reserve of coins, these last two well-known devices not being. shown in the drawing.
A retrograde movement of the axis of my nutention 13 is prevented by the lever 14 which, while fulfilling the role of counter-pawl, still ensures the cam axis 13 a determined starting position and always. the same.
On the other hand, a rotational movement of the button 12 and of the axis to. cams 13 at an exaggerated speed, with the fraudulent aim of crossing without downtime the starting position of the cam axle after a complete revolution of the latter, in order to keep the calibration slide 5 hooked in position working by the end of the lever 17 and advancing the pinion 23 a second time, for the value of the inserted and already cashed coin, is prevented by means of the device described below.
An increasing radius cam 20 and an angled lever 30 are wedged to the cam axle 13 so that, in the starting position from the axle 13, the bent end 29 of a lever 27 can move. freely between the nose of the cam 20 and the elbow of the lever 30. A. shoulder 28 of the lever 27 bears on the lever 11. When the two slides 2 and 5 are at rest, the extension 33 of the slide 5 pushes back. towards the outside the end of the lever 11 which, in turn, by the effect of the shoulder 28, pushes the lever 27, the folded end of which 29 is then against the small radius part of the cam 20.
When a coin is inserted, the slides 2 and 5 take the positions shown in fig. 3 and the lever 11, under the effect of its return spring, engages above the slide 2. The lever 27, on the other hand, is not biased by any spring and remains in the position it occupied. previously, leaving free passage to the elbow lever 30, which allows the cam axle 13 to rotate.
During the rotation of the latter, the folded end 29 of the lever 27 is pushed back by the rod 20 with increasing radius and after a complete turn of the axis 13 is in the position shown in the drawing, that is that is to say just in front of the angled lever 30, blocking its path. The lever 27 will remain in this position, preventing any further rotation of the axis 13, as long as the slide 5 has not fallen back into the rest position, pushing the lever 11 and through it the lever 27.
A complete fall of the slide 5 -is therefore necessary between two consecutive turns, of the axis 13, which excludes the fraudulent maneuver mentioned above.
