Description

       

  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines zur     Schädlingsbekämpfung    verwendbaren  Kondensationsproduktes.    Es wurde gefunden, dass das wasserlös  liche, licht- und     walkechte,    beständige     Ben-          zyl-3,4-dichlorphenylmercaptal    der     Benzal-          dehyd-o-sulfonsäure    erhalten werden kann,

    wenn man in steter Gegenwart von sauren  Kondensationsmitteln 1     Mol        Benzaldehyd-o-          sulfonsäure    mit einem     Mol        Benzylmercaptan     und die entstandene     Hydrolsulfonsäure    mit 1       Mol        3,4-Dichlorthiophenol    behandelt. Die neue  Verbindung ist zur Verwendung als Schäd  lingsbekämpfungsmittel, insbesondere zum Im  munisieren gegen Kleidermotten geeignet.  Das neue Kondensationsprodukt stellt nach  dem Trocknen und Mahlen ein helles Pulver  dar, das in Wasser gut löslich ist und schwer  lösliche Blei- und Eisensalze bildet.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>       i/jo        Mol        Benzaldehyd-o-sulfonsäure    wird in  100 Teilen Eisessig gelöst und bei<B>0'</B> C mit  12,4 Teilen     Benzylmercaptan        (1/1o        Mol)    ver  setzt, worauf das Gemisch 12 Stunden bei    Raumtemperatur sich selbst überlassen wird.  Dann wird mit 17,9 Teilen     3,4-Dichlorthio-          phenol        (1/1o        Mol)    versetzt und unter Eisküh  lung mit     Salzsäuregas    gesättigt.

   Nach     6stün-          digem    Stehen wird in 1000 Teile Wasser ein  gerührt, die Lösung kalt mit Natronlauge  kongoneutral gestellt und     ausgeäthert.    Der  Äther wird mit     conc.    Natronlauge zweimal  gewaschen, getrocknet und     abdestilliert.        De'r     Rückstand wird im Vakuum bei 80-90 o C  getrocknet und gemahlen. Das     Benzyl-3,4-          dichlorphenylmercaptal    der     Benzaldehyd-o-          sulfonsäure    ist in Wasser leicht löslich und  bildet     schwerlösliche    Blei- und Eisensalze.

After drying and grinding, the new condensation product is a light-colored powder that is readily soluble in water and forms poorly soluble lead and iron salts.



  <I> Example: </I> 1/1 mole of benzaldehyde-o-sulfonic acid is dissolved in 100 parts of glacial acetic acid and added at <B> 0 '</B> C with 12.4 parts of benzyl mercaptan (1/10 mol) and the mixture is left to stand for 12 hours at room temperature. Then 17.9 parts of 3,4-dichlorothiophenol (1/10 mol) are added and the mixture is saturated with hydrochloric acid gas while cooling with ice.

   After standing for 6 hours, the mixture is stirred into 1000 parts of water, and the solution is rendered Congo-neutral with cold sodium hydroxide solution and extracted with ether. PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Darstellung eines zur Schäd lingsbekämpfung verwendbaren Kondensa tionsproduktes, des Benzyl-3,4-dichlorphenyl- mercaptals der Benzaldehyd-o-sulfonsäure, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man in steter Gegenwart von sauren Kondensationsmitteln 1 Mol Benzaldehyd-o-sulfonsäure erst mit 1 Mol Benzylmercaptan und dann die entstan dene Hydrolsulfonsäure mit 1 Mol 3,4-Dichlor- tbiophenol behandelt.
