Valve bag filling machine. The object of the present invention is to provide a machine making it possible to fill a valve bag with any solid, pulverulent, granular or lumpy product, in the dry state or in the wet state.
The filling machine which is the subject of the invention is of the type in which the filling device comprises a converging duct extended at its lower part by a tubular part, the outlet end of which is intended to be introduced into the valve of the bag for conduct inside the latter material supplied into said conduit.
According to the invention, this tubular part comprises a first rectilinear and inclined part, and has at its outlet end a protruding part in the form of a nose, the upper surface of which is less inclined than the axis of the first part and is intended to to be applied against the upper bottom of the bag after the introduction of this outlet end into the valve and thus to support this part of the bag, the tubular part being shaped so that the flow path of the material is rectilinear from the duct to its exit from this tubular part.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, a particular embodiment of the machine according to the invention.
In this drawing: fig. 1 is an elevational view, the machine being cut along the line designated by I-I in FIG. 2; fig. 2 is a corresponding profile view with section taken along the line designated by II II in FIG. 1, and fig. 3 is a plan view, the hopper removed, with partial cutouts.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the machine comprises a frame 1, in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped constructed of profiled irons. This frame carries at its upper part the weighing mechanism which comprises two parallel horizontal bars 2 arranged on the sides of the frame and carried, by the intermediary of knives, by consoles 3 constituted by sections of bars U fixed has built. The knives are arranged so that each bar 2 can oscillate about an axis parallel to its own longitudinal axis.
Two levers 4 and 5 located in the same transverse plane in the vicinity of one end of the frame and turned towards one another are carried respectively by these bars on which they are rigidly fixed. The upper lever 4 supports by means of a knife a yoke 6 on the lower side of which the lower lever 5 supports, also by means of a knife. A rod i connects the free end of lever 4 to a balance beam, not shown. At their opposite ends, these bars 2 respectively carry two other transverse levers 8, shorter than the levers 4 and 5.
These four levers 4, 5 and 8 support respectively, by means of knives. four candles 10, the whole being arranged so that the four points of oscillation of the candles on the corresponding levers are in the same horizontal plane and that the distance from the axis of oscillation of a bar 2 to the points of oscillation of the candles 10 on the levers carried by this same bar is the same for all the candles 10. These candles are fixed by their upper part to the ends of a horizontal rectangular frame 11, built in profiled irons and suitably braced by sleepers 12.
The frame 11 thus always remains horizontal and is absolutely equivalent to the plate of a seesaw.
The filling device of the machine shown comprises a converging duct in the form of a conical hopper 13, a bag holder 14 rigidly fixed to this hopper 13, preferably by welding, and a vibrator 15 also rigidly fixed to the hopper. The vibrator 15 is placed in the vicinity of the outlet of the hopper.
Said assembly is carried by the frame 11 by means of an aperiodic suspension produced as follows: on the hopper 13 is fixed an annular shell 16 forming a kind of hollow gutter facing downwards and making exti ' - thoroughly around said hopper; this gutter 16 covers the upper part of an annular rubber air chamber 17 suitably inflated with air and which itself rests by its lower part in another annular shell 18 with a hollow facing upwards and carried by the frame 11.
The two shells 16 and 18 are not in contact but the upper shell 16 is more widely flared than the lower one. so that its edges overlap the edges of the latter. in order to form a protective roof preventing dirt from accumulating in the lower shell 18. The latter rests on the frame 11 by means of two vertical columns 19 diametrically opposed and each of which is crossed by a horizontal shaft 20 rotating in a bearing 21 bolted to the frame 11. These two shafts 20 are an extension of the im of the other so that the whole of the hopper, the bag holder and the shells is thus capable of tilting around a horizontal axis.
The axis of the outlet 22 of the hopper is inclined and this orifice is extended by a tubular part extending to the vicinity of the side of the frame opposite to that where the beam of the weighing mechanism is located. This tubular part comprises a first recti line and inclined part 23 following the outlet orifice 22 of the. hopper and present to. its outlet end a protruding part in the form of a nose 24, the upper surface of which is less inclined than the axis of part 23 so that, in the normal filling position, this surface is substantially located.
horizontal in order to allow easy introduction of the outlet end of the tubular part into the valve of the bag. and that this surface comes to rest against the upper bottom of the bag after the introduction of this outlet end into the valve presented by this upper bottom. This nose 24 constitutes a support for the upper bottom of the bag.
The tubular part is shaped so that the material flow path is. recti line from the hopper to its exit from the l) th tabular. The assembly carried by the shafts 20 is established in such a way that, when empty, it tends to move downwards in the direction of the arrow f so that it is held by its own weight in the normal filling position, determined. - born in this case by the stop of this assembly on the frame 11, but that, when the bag is close to being completely filled, the center of gravity of the assembly passes to the other side of the axis of tilting, the assembly then tilting in the opposite direction to f.
This tilting is limited by a stop constituted by a bracket 25 articulated at 26 on the frame 11 so as to be able to pivot about a horizontal axis. This caliper can be maneuvered by the worker by means of a control bar 27 and a spring 28 tends to keep him on the path of a stop piece 29 fixed to the tilting assembly.
So that this property of the voting assembly pi can be preserved with containers filled with different weights of material, a device is provided which makes it possible to vary the position of the center of gravity of the assembly; hooks 30 are provided for this purpose making it possible to provide the pivoting assembly with the suitable counterweight.
The position occupied by the pivot assembly as empty under the effect of its own weight could be determined by means of an adjustable stopper at will, carried for example by a movable threaded rod passing through a fixed nut, so as to allow to vary the inclination of the hopper according to the circumstances, in particular according to the products.
Another important feature of the machine shown resides in that the hopper 13 has a double wall and that the inner wall is separated from the outer wall by a thickness of air. A material that does not transmit vibrations so much could also be introduced between these walls. The two walls are only connected to each other along the top edge of the hopper. The inner wall descends to the level at which the vibrator 15 is fixed on the outer wall of the hopper 1.3.
In this way, the vibrations which emanate from the vibrator 15 pass through the upper edge of the hopper to reach the inner wall over the entire surface of which they then propagate from top to bottom, i.e. say in the direction favorable to the flow of the material discharged into the hopper, and not from bottom to top as would be the case if the hopper had only a single wall. The inner wall could however not extend over the entire height of the hopper but only over a fraction of this height above the level of the vibrator 15.
The distance between the two walls is held by the interposition of a matic tire bead 13a between the two walls in the vicinity of the lower edge of the inner wall.
The operation of the machine is as follows: The material is discharged into the hopper 13 either mechanically by any conveyor, or with a shovel, and it slides directly into the bag placed on the bag holder 14. To facilitate its filling with a shovel, the hopper 13 is notched on the side. When the filling of the bag is nearing its end, the weight of the bag causes the assembly of the bag holder and the hopper to tilt around its tilting axis to the position determined by the stirrup 25.
The inclination then taken by the bag holder and the bag facilitates the filling of the upper corner of the bag opposite to that by which the tubular part penetrates inside.
With the bag completely filled with the desired weight of material, the worker pulls on the control bar 27 which then rotates the stirrup 25 against the action of the spring 28 and seems to tilt it can rotate more. far in the opposite direction to f,
which increases the inclination of the bag holder and facilitates the removal of the bag from the tubular part. To allow the worker to temporarily increase this inclination if necessary, a lever 31 can be provided within reach, on which he can press to tilt the assembly. Once the bag is removed,
the tilting assembly pivots in the direction f under the action of its own weight and the part 29 comes up against the caliper 25 that the return spring 28 has brought back on the path of this part as soon as the worker has let go the. control bar? 7. The return of the tilting assembly to the normal filling position takes place only after the stop 25 has been erased by a voluntary pull by the worker on the control bar 27 and the machine is then ready for a new one. surgery.
In the. machine shown on the drawing, the frame 1 rests, on the side of the weighing mechanism, on: two wheels 32 and carries on the opposite side two pivoting arms 33 which cleats 34 stop in the suitable position so that they can be used stretcher. The machine could also be stationary.
Many other embodiments of my china according to the invention can be envisioned. This is how the bag holder could be suspended directly from the weighing mechanism instead of from the vibrating filling device: the vibrating filling device similar to that which has just been described can be carried by the frame through the. suspension instead of being supported by the weighing mechanism, and that the damping system could also be interposed between the weighing mechanism and the frame which would then directly support the vibrating filling device.
In the latter two cases, the sa, c carrier would necessarily be carried directly by the weighing mechanism.
