Les fig. 3a, 3b et 3c sont respectivement. une élévation en coupe, un plan avec arrache ment partiel et une coupe transversale d'une première forme d'exécution à commande ma nuelle; Les fig. 4a, 4b et 4e sont respectivement une coupe, un plan et une élévation d'une se- coude forme d'exéciit.ion, également. à com- iriande manuelle;
La fig. 8 est. une vue d'une sixième forme d'exécution destinée à la présentation d'une bande comportant des images dites "de droite" et "de galiclie" (le couples stéréosco- piques: Les fig. 9a et 91) sont respectivement un plan et nue élévation schématiques d'une septième foi-nie d'exécution;
I>an',</I> respectivement hb'.

Presentation device for advertising tapes whose images follow one another side by side. An illustrated strip, for commercial, industrial or tourist advertising, which is composed by placing images, photographs, panoramas and intercalated texts side by side and one after the other, reaches its goal. full effect when it retains the viewer's attention for a long time, that is to say when the succession of views and the movement of the tape give the impression of witnessing a lively and captivating spectacle.
To achieve this goal in front of various audiences, the nature, as the kind of succession of the images of the tape may be different, and consequently the apparatus which will present this moving tape will have a specific shape, dimensions and complexity. appropriate canique.
The present invention relates to a presentation apparatus for advertising tapes whose images follow one another side by side, this apparatus being characterized by two parallel reels, on one of which the tape to be presented is wound up in continuous turns. sives while it unwinds from the other coil and vice versa,: depending on whether one or the other of the coils is alternately driven, the band passing from the right coil to the left one, and vice versa versa, following a cylindrical surface, in the geometric sense of this term.
In preferred embodiments, the belt is driven in a continuous lateral movement. In some embodiments, the cylindrical surface may be reduced to a single plane, the tape passing directly from one coil to another.
Figs. la, lb and le show different shapes of said cylindrical surface that follows 1 <B> a </B> strip to pass from one reel to another. In fig. ] .a, this surface is reduced to a plane. In fig. lb, the strip is guided by a curved surface, while in Fig. the, it is guided by two rollers, so that the strip can be presented in several planes at the same time.
The generatrix of this cylindrical surface can be vertical, oblique or horizontal, as shown in Figs. \? a_ <B> 91, </B> and 2c, to allow the tape to be presented at a greater or lesser height above or below the viewer's eyes.
When the chosen surface is not a simple plane, the strip unwinds there thanks to return rollers and smooth surfaces on which it slides, and it can be kept in the correct position by acting guides. on its edges.
In certain embodiments of the apparatus, the movement with which the strip is animated is given by hand; in other embodiments it is given by a motor.
When the speed of the driving reel is constant, the linear speed of the strip increases with each turn of the turn which accumulates on this reel; if this variation in linear speed is a spectacular drawback, for example for very long bands, it will be corrected, in the preferred embodiments of the apparatus, either by automatically varying the speed of the motor. or by varying the speed of rotation of the spool by means of a speed regulator mechanism included between the motor and the driving spool.
The sequence of images of certain types of tape has a favorable sense of smooth playback, whereby the tape should be unwound in a comfortable motion to follow, while rewinding the tape in the other direction. can be done much more quickly, To present such bands. certain embodiments of the apparatus are provided with a mechanism permitting different speeds depending on whether the strip moves in one direction or the other.
The appended drawing represents, by way of examples, some embodiments of the apparatus forming the subject of the invention.
Figs. 3a, 3b and 3c are respectively. a sectional elevation, a partially broken away plan and a cross section of a first manually operated embodiment; Figs. 4a, 4b and 4e are respectively a section, a plan and an elevation of a second embodiment, also. manually operated;
Figs. 5a and 51) are respectively a plane with partial cutaway and a section of a third embodiment; The fi-. 6a, 6! - and (c relate to the mechanical device of a fourth embodiment controlled by a motor; Figs. 7a and <B> 71) </B> relate to the mechanical device of a fifth form of execution controlled by a motor:
Fig. 8 is. a view of a sixth embodiment intended for the presentation of a strip comprising so-called "right-hand" and "galiclie" images (the stereoscopic pairs: Figs. 9a and 91) are respectively a plane and bare schematic elevation of a seventh execution faith;
Figs. 1 (1a el- 11> 7j are similar views of an eighth embodiment: Figures 1a and 11h are similar views of a ninth embodiment, Figs. <B> binds </B> and 11d showing the same execution form for another position of the <B> device (the </B> command.
In his. simplest embodiment, shown in FIG. 3a, 31) and 3e, the device is made up of two parallel coils _1 and B, closed in a housing D, each controlled by an inollete button F, respectively and rotating on an axis <I> an ', </ I> respectively hb '. Turning the knob F in the direction of the arrow by hand (fig.
3a). the reel _-1 is rotated and the band C moves from right to left at the speed we want to give it; the images that the band carries are. observed by a window I. A window J, open on the other side of the housing D. allows to observe the back of the tape.
The embodiment shown in fi-. 4a. 41) and; 4c is similar to that which has just been described, except that the housing D imitates the shape of a book and has a hinged cover T '. covering the window J. In other embodiments, the housing of the apparatus may take the form of a box, a case, or an object of any shape, treated with a artistic or whimsical way.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 5a and 5b, the apparatus consists of a body D, supported by feet D 'which, following their shape, keep it horizontal, inclined or vertical. The cash register is opened on one of its faces by a window J, under which is a plate 1. Two coils A and <I> B, </I> rotating on their axes aa 'and bb', can be placed - in movement, at will, by cranks F and F. The band C, which winds on these reels, passes between the window J and the plate I.
In a variant of this embodiment, the movement of one or the other of the coils, or of the two coils, could be given by a motor by means of a particular mechanical device.
Figs. 6a, 6b and 6c show schematically a mechanical device of such an embodiment. It includes a tangent screw f, mounted on the shaft of a motor F, this screw f rotating a pinion and an integral shaft DD ', carrying two tangent screws D and D' in opposite directions, which are intended to drive pinions E and E 'wedged on the axes of coils <I> A </I> and B. Parts <I> H </I> and H' can be applied on coils A and B or on discs which are integral with them.
The device HH'D'D can be caused to pivot around f and, depending on whether it is held in one of the positions of f, <B> .g. </B> 6a and 6b, either or the another of the driving coils comes in the direction indicated by the arrows, or is braked by one of the parts H and H ', which ensures the tension of the strip.
In another embodiment, the mechanical positive device may be as shown in fi-. 7a and 7b. A main shaft carries two tangent screws <I> D </I> and <I> D '</I> in opposite directions and a pinion e, which is driven in rotation by a pinion f wedged on the shaft of a motor F. The main shaft can be put and maintained in two particular positions, so that one of the two screws D or D 'only attacks the corresponding pinion spaced on the axis of the corresponding coil, which makes one or the other of these motor coils.
In these last two forms of execution, the change of rate is done by hand or automatically, by moving the shaft DD 'appropriately and locking it in the desired position during the whole belt advance in one direction. or in the other.
Fig. 8 shows an embodiment in which the strip passes from one of the reels to the other by means of angle rollers 1, such as, for example, according to FIG. the; the strip is translucent and illuminated from behind by a light <I> L </I> filtered by a screen <I> Dl; </I> in the upper half pq it presents, for example, the series of images called "of right "(the stereoscopic pairs, and respectively in its lower half rs the series of so-called" left "images of these pairs.
In order to make it possible to present such a band, the apparatus comprises two pairs of mirrors tl and iuO, similar to a Cazes stereoscope turned vertically. These pairs allow the eyes, placed in a V, to observe, through the respective light paths YtTpq and VuITrs, the images which correspond to them and thus to obtain the stereoscopic impression throughout the lateral movement of the illustrated strip.
This embodiment can also be designed so that the generatrices of the cylindrical surface which the strip follows are vertical, inclined or horizontal.
More complicated embodiments of the apparatus can be used to present wide webs to many people at once; the directrix of the cylindrical surface which the strip marries between the two reels can be achieved there by angle rollers, sliding surfaces and guides, and the part of the apparatus which ensures the driving of the strip y can be achieved in various ways depending on the movement that one wishes to give to the tape.
n will now describe, by way of example, three mechanically driven embodiments comprising at least one transmission roller working by friction, these three embodiments differing one from the other (the other by the device ( training, and these three forms (the execution giving the band three different kinds of walking.
The fi-. 10a and 10 >> relate to: i. uw., execution form where the. speed of rotation of the. drive coil is uniform.
From iix group <I> D and D 'of </I> roller and pinion side by side. are constantly rotated by the two reverse pitch screws E and E 'wedged on the solid shaft of a pinion e. which is itself driven by a third tangent screw wedged on the ar bre f of an F engine;
the whole oscillates around the shaft f between two useful positions in which the roller D is applied under the coil <l, where respectively the roller D 'is applied under the. coil B, in points of the cheeks (these coils placed, on the rays perpendicular to the plane containing their axes. When the çralet D 'is applied under the coil B, as is the case in the fia.
111e, this reel drags the tape in the direction of the arrow (the end. 10a, and the reel _1 is freely drawn by the traction of the tape which comes off it.
