Process for the preparation of an o-ogyazo dye. It has been found that dyes which are suitable for dyeing wool by the single-bath chrome process are obtained if the diazo compounds of such negatively substituted 2-amino-1-oxybenzenes which contain no sulfonic acid or carboxylic acid group are used or of diazoated 2 amino-l-carboxybenzenes, with oxynaphthalenesulfonic acid arylides,
which are substituted in the arylide radical by a carboxyl group, combined.
The dyes are distinguished by their good drawability according to the single-bath chrome process and result in dyeings on wool that are washfast and boiled, as well as good lightfastness.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of an o-oxy azo dye, which is characterized in that 4-nitro-6-chloro-2-amino-l-oxybenzene is diazotized and the diazo compound is diazotized with 2-oxynaphthalene 6-sulfonic acid anilide-2'-carboxylic acid couples.
Example: 18.9 parts of 4-nitro-6-chloro-2-amino-1-ogy-benzene are combined with 200 parts! Slurried water and, after addition of 25 parts of hydrochloric acid of 12 B6, diazotized with 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite. The diazo compound leads to a solution, with ice, of 35 parts of 2-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid anilide-2'-carboxylic acid and 25 parts of soda in about 1000 parts of water.
When the combination is complete, the dye is worked up in the usual way. After drying, it forms a dark powder of good solubility, which colors wool using the single-bath chrome process in violet-brown shades of good wash and milled fastness and very good light fastness.
