Es sind dies insbesondere die Kondensationsprodukte von Formaldehyd mit aminoplastbildenden oder phenoplastbildenden Verbindungen7d.h. die Methylolverbin- Jungen von aminoplastbildenden oder phenoplastbildend Verbin dungen die Asther der Methylolverbindungen mit niederen Alkoholen und die von diesen Verbindungen abgeleiteten wasserlöslichen oder wasserdispergierbaren Vorkondensate;

Process for dyeing and making textiles crease and shrink-proof with water-soluble dyes containing thiosulphuric acid groups. It has been found that fiber material can be dyed and made crease and shrink-proof at the same time if one has a water-soluble,
organically pure or more than one thiosulfuric acid group-pointing dye and a water-soluble or water-dispersible resin-forming compound and an acidic catalyst is applied and heated for fixation.
It is already known that textile material with dyes that contain reactive groups or halogen atoms, with the help of which the dyes can form covalent bonds with the fiber material or with synthetic resins, can be dyed by applying the dyes together with resin-forming compounds and at the same time crease. or. can equip shrink-proof .
The reactive groups of dyes react with the formation of covalent bonds with the synthetic resins and cause this way a fixation of the dyes.
The dyes containing thiosulphuric acid groups, as used in the process of the present invention, are water-soluble dyes which do not have such reactive groups . They are generally fixed on the fiber by post-treatment with alkalis or alkaline reducing agents , with the formation of insoluble pigment molecules . </ B> In the method of the present invention it is surprisingly possible

that the dyes containing the thiosulfuric acid groups are converted into mercapto compounds formed by the action of the acidic catalysts presence of resin-forming compounds evidently to form insoluble blercaptal or thioether dyes, are suitable for the present process are, for example the azo dyes mentioned in Belgian patent 590 124, which are obtained when aromatic amines,
which contain one or more thiosulfuric acid groups which can be connected to the aromatic nucleus directly or via a bridge member, are diazotized and the diazonium salts obtained are reacted with a coupling-capable compound, which can also contain thiosulfuric acid groups. It is also possible to react just a diazonium salt with a component which is capable of coupling and which contains one or more thiosulphuric acid groups.
Other dyes with thiosulfuric acid groups from the series of anthraquinone, acridone, phenazine, oxazine, diphenyl methane, tiphenyl methane,
Azo or phthalocyanine series or nitro dyes can e.g. by the process of Belgian patent 590 125 by reacting aliphatic or aromatic amines containing thiosulfuric acid groups with organic dyes which have one or more reactive halogen atoms.
Dyes suitable for the present process can also be obtained, for example, by the method of British patent 510 453 by reacting a dye which has one or more aliphatically bonded reactive halogen atoms with sodium thiosulfate. The dyes can be any Concentration depending on the desired depth of color can be used. In general, concentrations of about 3 to 60 g of dye per kg of padding liquor or printing paste are used.
All compounds which crosslink under the action of acidic catalysts can be used as resin-forming compounds. For the method of the present invention, the products known to be crease-resistant or shrink-resistant for textiles come into consideration primarily.
These are in particular the condensation products of formaldehyde with aminoplast-forming or phenoplast-forming compounds7 i.e. the methylolverbin boys of aminoplast-forming or phenoplast-forming compounds, the asters of methylol compounds with lower alcohols and the water-soluble or water-dispersible precondensates derived from these compounds;
also polyfunctional epoxies and ethyleneimine compounds and polyacetals. The concentration of the resin-forming compounds or the synthetic resin precondensates in the aqueous treatment solutions is generally kept in the range of about 3 to 40 percent by weight, preferably 8 to 20 percent by weight.
Suitable aminoplast-forming compounds are those which contain at least one group of the formula in the molecule
EMI0004.0031
contain, in which Z oxygen, sulfur or = NH and R hydrogen, a acrylic, preferably phenyl, or an alkyl radical with preferably 1 - 5 carbon atoms,
which can also be connected to the carbon atom of the above group to form a five- to seven-membered ring and whose carbon chain or ring can also be formed by heteroatoms, e.g. Nitrogen or sulfur, may be interrupted, means.
Such aminoplast-forming compounds are in particular carboxamide or thiocarboxamide group-tending compounds and aminoazines which have a total of at least 2 hydrogen atoms bonded to the nitrogen atoms,
so that at least 2 11o1 formaldehyde per mole of the compounds containing carbonamide or thiocarbonamide groups or the aminoazirals can react. Compounds containing carbonamide or thiocarbonamide groups are primarily urea and its derivatives or
Descendants such as Ethyl urea, acetylene urea, diphenyl urea, thiourea, also hydantoiri, dicyandiamide, guanidines, urethanes, lactams, such as e.g. Caprolactam and butyrolactam,
and generally the amides of mono- or dibasic saturated or unsaturated carboxylic acids with 1 - carbon atoms in question. Particularly suitable aminoazines are aminotriazines and triazone derivatives, such as
ielamin, 2-methyl-4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazine, 2-chloro-4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazine, 2,6-diamino-4-phenyl-1 , 3,5-triazine, 2,4-dimethyl-6-amino-1,3,5-triazine, 2,4-diamino-1,3,5-triazine, N-Lethyl-triazon,
N-ethyltriazon and N-hydroxytriazon and their etherification products. For use in the context of the process of the present invention, the aminoplast-forming base materials are reacted with at least 2 kol of formaldehyde to give the corresponding methylol compounds or water-soluble precondensates.
The number of methylol radicals to be introduced depends on the number of reactive nitrogen-bonded hydrogen atoms of the aminoplast formers. The methylol radicals can also be etherified by lower alcohols, preferably alcohols with 1-3 carbon atoms.
The following formaldehyde condensation products may be mentioned as examples: dimethylolurea, dimethyldimethylolurea, diphenyldimethylolurea, dimethylolthiourea, trimethylolmelamine, triphenyltrimethylolmelamine, penta- and hexamethylolmelamine, dimethyloldicyandiamide, dimethylolguanidine, dimethylolbutand,
Dimethylol äthandioldiurethan, Dimethylolformamid, Trimethylolformamid, Dimethylolacetamid, Dimethyloladipinsäurediamid, Dimethylolmaleinsäurediamid as well as their etherification products with methanol, ethanol or propanol. The following are also mentioned:
Types of reactants, e.g. Dimethyloläthylenurea, Dihydroxydimethyloläthylenharn material, tetramethylolacetylenediurea, dimethyldimethylolhydantoin, dimethylol-N-methyltriazone, dimethylol-N-hydroxytriazone and their etherification products and the precondensates derived from these Methylolver compounds.
Phenolic-forming compounds are particularly suitable for phenolic cresols.
Also suitable as resin-forming compounds are polyfunctional epoxides, for example butadiene dioxide, diglycidyl and glycidyl ethers of ethylene glycol, glycerol or sorbitol. A polyfunctional ethyleneimine compound which is particularly suitable for processes is e.g. the tri- (1-aziridinyl)
- phosphine oxide. Examples of polyacetals are the condensation products of formaldehyde and ethylene glycol, propylene glycol or polyglycols obtainable by the process of US Pat. Nos. 2,785,949 and 2,878,294, e.g. the condensation product from 1,4-butanediol, ethylene glycol formaldehyde or from pentaerythritol and formaldehyde hyd 1 into consideration.
The catalysts customary for synthetic resin finishes can be used as acidic catalysts. For example, inorganic acids mentioned, such as phosphoric acid, boric acid and their salts with weak inorganic bases or volatile inorganic or organic bases, such as the zinc, aluminum, magnesium or ammonium salts, e.g. Ammonium chloride, ammonium phosphate, zinc chloride, blagnesium chloride, zinc fluoroborate,
as well as mineral acid salts of organic amines, e.g. Diethanolamine hydrochloride; furthermore organic acids, such as acetic acid, formic acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid, citric acid, haleaic acid, glycolic acid, oxalic acid, chloroacetic acid, chloropropionic acid and many others, as well as the acidic salts of these acids in solution, mixtures of these acids and / or salts and esters,
e.g. tartaric acid diethyl ester. The acidic catalysts are generally used in the process of the present invention in amounts of 0.1 to 596, preferably 0.5 to 296, based on the weight of the treatment solution.
The application of the aqueous solutions containing the dye, the resin-forming substance and the catalyst can be carried out by any of the known methods, e.g. by immersing the fiber material in the solution and squeezing it off, by impregnating on the padder, on the reel runner, on the jigger or on any other apparatus commonly used in the textile industry.
Application can also be carried out by local application, e.g. by printing with a thickened solution or paste obtained by adding a conventional thickener. It is also possible to apply the dye on the one hand and the resin-forming substance and the catalyst on the other hand separately in two different solutions or thickened solutions. However, application in a solution is usually preferred because of the simpler work process.
Further known auxiliaries, such as wetting agents, water repellants, plasticizers, leveling agents or finishing agents, can also be added to the aqueous treatment solutions.
E.g. suitable compounds to improve the tensile strength of the handle of the fabric, e.g. Polyhydroxy compounds such as polyvinyl alcohol, cellulose ether, starch, casein, gelatin, and wetting agents or emulsifiers can also be used.
An addition of about 3 to 30 of a polyalcohol, e.g. Diethylene glycol or glycerin, proved. In many cases, this addition leads to an improvement in the dye yield.
The material treated with the aqueous solution can, if necessary, be predried at room temperature or an elevated temperature of about 110.degree. The pre-drying should, however, if possible, only lead to a certain residual moisture of about 10 to 30 percent by weight, otherwise the dye yield will be lower. After the pre-drying, the temperature is rei higher, in the same way as is usual when carrying out the known synthetic resin finishes, condensation. For this purpose, the fiber material is heated for a short time, up to about 15 minutes, to 115 to 170 ° C., preferably 1 to 6 meows to 140 to 16 ° C.
Subsequent washing with the addition of any detergent can wash out small amounts of tight, unfixed dye. In general, a practically completely washable fixation of the dye succeeds if the amount of resin-forming compounds necessary for a good anti-aging finish is used, optionally with the addition of a polyalcohol. In the case of synthetic resin finishes, subsequent washing of the finished goods is often dispensed with. In the process of the present invention, too, the subsequent washing can optionally be omitted.
In such cases, there is no risk that accompanying white material carried with you during a subsequent hot wash will be colored by any washed-out, unfixed dye.
The method according to the invention can be applied to any fiber material, e.g. Woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, knitted fabrics, nonwovens and the like, made from wool, silk or synthetic fibers, such as e.g. Polyamides, polyurethanes, polyesters can be made. However, the method is preferably used for dyeing textile material which consists completely or predominantly of native or regenerated cellulose or cellulose-containing yarns, knitted fabrics or woven fabrics.
is therefore particularly used for dyeing cotton or blends of cotton with synthetic fibers, e.g. Polyesters, are used Because of its poor ability to recover from creasing, cotton is subjected to a high level of refinement with synthetic resin for many purposes.
According to the method of the present invention, when using dyes which contain one or more thioachulfuric acid groups, a separate dyeing or refinement process can be saved. In a single finishing step, huan is given a high-quality finish and dyeing with very good wet fastness properties.
