Description
B. Latex oder Rever- tex, zugesetzt werden. Das, Zusetzen des letzterwähnten Harzes gibt,dem Produkt die Eigenschaft gegen hohe Temperaturen;
Process for the production of an acid and alkali resistant skin protective coating. The invention relates to a method for the production of one. Against: acids. and alkali-resistant protective coating agents. The:
The agent is particularly suitable for coating metals: wood, concrete and the like to protect the surface against damage caused by atmospheric influences.
It is known to be a liquid resp. ge molten mass of asphalt, coumarone resin and a saponifiable staff, z. B.
Montan wax: to be emulsified in a solution of ammonia or similar alkalis. However, the use of such preparations is limited: because of their poor adhesion and because of their low resistance, even to moderate temperatures.
The purpose of the present invention is to avoid these nuisances.
According to the invention, a molten mass of asphalt, coumarone resin and a saponifiable substance is produced and poured into an emulsifier:
which contains water and an alkaline agent. As- then the emulsion will be: fine. grind that synthetic resin with a melting point between! 200 and <B> 300 '</B> C and one that contains rubber and milk. Agent added.
In certain cases an aqueous solution of methyl cellulose can also be added to the mass in the emulsifying apparatus. This addition will give the end product a certain stability, especially if it is 5 to 101% of the weight.
The pouring of the .melted mass into the emulsifying apparatus can take place at a temperature of approximately 90 to 100.degree.
After mixing the ingredients mentioned, the mass can be allowed to cool to about 60- C, whereupon finely ground synthetic resin, the melting point of which is between 200 and 3.00 C, and a rubber-milk-containing agent, e.g.
B. latex or Revertex can be added. That adding the last-mentioned resin gives the product the property against high temperatures;
to be resilient, so that the mass is suitable as a protective coating for boilers that are used in the chemical industry, and also everywhere else where a surface is to be heated to high temperatures.
The synthetic resins used are expediently those which are very resistant to acids and alkalis.
For example, the following ingredients are mixed in the specified proportions: coumarone resin 12,000 g, asphalt 12,000 g, montan wax 100 g.
This mixture is melted and then poured into an emulsifying apparatus which contains, for example: water 14 0.00 g, sodium or potassium hydroxide solution (39-1 / 2%) 1001 cm3, solution of methyl cellulose (4 to 8%) 800 G.
A mixture is added to the emulsion, cooled to about 60 ° C., consisting of: synthetic resin 800 g, latex 3,600 g.
