Process for the production of a floor covering from HolzmeM and water glass.
The invention relates to a method for producing a wood mass for a floor covering.
In contrast to the known wood mass according to Austrian Patent No. 33123, which is made from wood flour,
Silica, animal hair and water glass, and the mass, which is described in German Patent No. 393439, which is composed of wood flour, Rügen chalk, potassium water glass and castor oil, the production of the inventive mass for flooring is seen in the following manner
Weight data refer to a covering of 1 m2 with a thickness of about 20 mm or% inch): 0'5 leg solid citric acid or 0'5 kg aluminum acetate is mixed well with 1 kg alum and treated with 4 l cold water, whereby solves everything except for a small residue that must not be used.
The solution is then mixed with 20 μg sodium silicate solution of 36 Be (34 # 4%), with white, gelatinous silica being formed. 10 kg of hardwood flour are then mixed well with this silica gel; a plastic mass is created which, before it begins to set, i.e. before a quarter of an hour has elapsed, must be applied and tamped or otherwise processed.
For the purposes of the floor covering, the mass is applied to a base of tamped boiler slag or to another porous base, which causes better suction of the preparation water or faster drying. Extensive tests have shown that the addition of alum causes a significant increase in strength. The surface can be walked on one to two days after application. Its durability is similar to that of hardwood floors.
The cold protection achieved by the covering, which benefits health and is achieved by the low content of good heat conductors, must be regarded as an extraordinary advantage.
