Randabdichtungseinrichtung an Gasschutzmasken.
Edge sealing device on gas protective masks. The present invention relates to an edge sealing device on gas protection masks.
The edge sealing is of great importance for the reliability of gas protective masks, as a negative pressure is created inside the mask when breathing in, so that gas can flow between the edge of the mask and the skin under the pressure of the outside air. In most previous gas protection masks, a seal at the edge was simply brought about by using the fastening straps to tighten the mask so tightly that the edges were pressed onto the skin. Of course, this required an exact fit of the mask and, in view of the various deviations in face and skull shapes, the production of a correspondingly large number of different mask types and sizes, each person being able to use only the mask that was adapted to their needs.
For this reason, masks have already been designed with special sealing devices on the edge, but they were unsuitable due to their special design or also required a very high contact pressure, which the wearer feels uncomfortable in the long run. In addition, most known edge seals contribute to an increase in the harmful space inside the gas mask.
The above-mentioned difficulties are now eliminated with the edge sealing device according to the invention in that a lid is placed on the inside of the mask edge with its front. Edge is attached, the whole thing in such a way,
@that the latter, as a result of the negative pressure that occurs inside the mask when you inhale, is pressed by the outside air onto the parts of the face below the edge.
Thanks to this training, see even with .lower contact pressure a perfect and secure seal of the mask edge, although the harmful space can be kept relatively small, and there is also the advantage that with increased breathing activity, z. B. as a result of physical overexertion, the edge sealing device can act as an exhalation valve by being slightly lifted from the skin by the pressure created in the mask during exhalation.
Embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a gas protective mask in a horizontal manner with an edge sealing device according to a first embodiment; Fig. 2 to 4 show three more Ausfüh approximate forms in section.
In Fig. 1, 1 is the body of the protective mask, which z. B. made of soft rubber be available and in which the lenses 2 are used in the usual way. The filter insert is not shown for the sake of simplicity. The fastening straps 3 are attached to the edge of the mask in the usual manner. On the inner edge of the mask there is a supple lingerie strip 4, z. B. made of impregnated silk fabric, soft leather, soft rubber or the like. Attached, namely the front edge a of the same attached to the mask body, while the rear edge b is freely movable, the whole thing in such a way that the outside air has access to the outer surface of the eyelid strip and the inner surface of which is held by the fastening straps against the skin of the face.
When breathing in, the resistance of the air in the filter insert creates a negative pressure inside the mask, which of course also has an effect on the inner surface of the eyelid strip 4, so that it is pressed sufficiently firmly against the facial skin by the external air pressure. In this way, a secure edge sealing of the mask is created without it being necessary to tighten the fastening straps particularly hard, so that the wearer does not feel any pressure on the edge of the mask even after a long period of time.
Furthermore, this device ensures a safe closure even with unevenness of the skin, scars, etc., as well as with spectacle wearers over the spectacle rods, because it nestles well everywhere, so that no gas can enter in such places, as was often the case with both earlier masks happened.
Since the sealing liner does not cut in, there is also no risk that inexperienced mask wearers who are not aware of the danger, in particular women and children, seek relief by lifting the edge of the mask.
In the embodiment according to Fig. 2, the Liderung consists of a flat, thin-walled rubber hose 4t, which is fastened with its front gante a on the mask body, such that its rear gante protrudes freely and the outside air has access to its outside. When wearing the mask, the 4t rubber tube is compressed flaoh. Otherwise, the effect is the same as described above.
In the embodiment of Fig. 3, a scohmiegsamer Liderungs STRIP 4 is attached in the same way as in the embodiment of FIG. 1 on the mask body, but between the latter and the Liderungsstrei fen a padding strip 5 is inserted from sponge rubber, which is a wakeful application of the mask edge results, however, the access of the outside air to the outer surface of the Lide approximately strip 4 is not completely prevented.
While in the embodiment according to FIG. 3 the pressure of the tapes is transferred to the eyelid strip by a soft, pliable padding strip, this is done in the embodiment according to FIG. 4 by an air buffer,
by inserting a Ab- s o Illussfa -17 strip 6 between the lidding strip 4 and the mask body 1,
which, together with the mask body and the pliable eyelid strip, encloses an air ring that acts as a buffer. The outside air acts here partly directly, partly indirectly via the final fold strip on the outside of the eyelid fold strip 4.
