Gear change device for a bicycle. The object of the present invention is a speed changing device for a twin cycle, of which the appended drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment.
In this drawing: Fig. 1 is a side view of the device; Fig. 2 is an axial section of the housing; Fig. 3 is an axial section of the device as a whole showing the inner and outer gears; Fig. 4 shows a sectional etail. In fig. 1, we see the axis of the crankset 1 with the chain wheel 2 carrying an internal toothed crown 3, a toothed wheel 4, keyed at 5 on the axis of the crankset and in constant mesh with the external toothed wheel 6 fixed in end of the primary shaft.
On the secondary shaft is also fixed at the end the toothed wheel 7 which is in constant engagement with the inner ring gear 3. We also see the housing 8 with its cover 9, the reinforcing pins 10 and the gears inside. of the housing.
In fig. 2, we see the housing assembled by means of the sheet 11 welded on the circumference of the two walls 8 up to the height of the cover and mounted on the tube of the crankset 12. We also see the axis of the crankset 1 with the crown toothed 4 fixed above, the chain wheel carrying the inner ring gear 3, the primary and secondary shafts 6 and 7 carrying the pinions fixed at one end.
In fig. 3, we see the complete assembly with the two nuts 13 for maintaining the axle from the pedals, the four gears of the fixed gear f, g, h, i, the two players. j-k, 1-m, both. plates 14 which keep the bearings fixed, on the one hand, by means of screws 15 and held, on the other hand, by the two outer gears 6 and 7. The sliding gears are controlled in the usual way by means of forks engaged with collars integral with said pins. We also see the protective sheet 16 forming a dust cover for the external gears.
In fig. 4, the case alone can be seen where the extensions 18 and the two bores 17 appear, in which the two nuts for fixing the case against the crank tube are housed. These two nuts will also serve as bearings for the axle of the pedals. The housing may also have come in one piece with the bottom bracket tube.
