Apparatus for checking rooms and containers for occurrence BEZW. Escape of explosive gases by means of optical and acoustic alarm signal devices and for the automatic activation of a device preventing an explosion.
The invention relates to an apparatus by means of which rooms and containers for the presence BEZW. Escape. can check for explosive gases. Even if the amount of explosive gases is still far below the explosion limit, this device shows the presence of such gases optically and acoustically and automatically controls a device that prevents these gases from exploding.
The invention is based on the knowledge that platinum moor and platinum asbestos, which are highly sensitive to gas, develop heat even when very small amounts of gas are present in the air and that bimetallic bodies change their extended position when heated.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. E @ s @ shows: FIG. 1 a: section through the apparatus and FIG. 2 the apparatus according to FIG. 1 accommodated in a cylindrical housing. The apparatus consists of a gas-permeable housing 1 with a hanger 2.
A wall .B divides the housing into two chambers. In the left chamber is an all-sided; double-walled basket 4 consisting of a close-knit wire mesh, which is filled with platinum mud and platinum 5, which is highly sensitive to gas. Next to this container is a. Arranged bimetallic strip -6, which is charged with power via the power terminal 6a.
The current is drawn from a built-in battery 9. However, it could also be fed through a cable. If the bimetallic strip 6 now bends when heated, the free lower end touches the current collector 6b, via which the circuit to the optical and acoustic alarm signal devices 11 and 12 is closed.
At the same time, the bimetallic strip pushes a pin 7 to the right, which releases the locking element 8 of a timer mechanism 13. This. Switching clockwork is only hinted at, since such clockworks are known.
The locking plug 14 of the pipe 15 is actuated by the time switch mechanism. Connection couplings 15c and a branch pipe 16 are provided on the same. If compressed air is passed through the line to expel the dangerous gases, a siren 17 can be operated at the same time as the compressed air.
If the pipe carries water, it serves to irrigate the endangered areas. If 1-5 is a gas line, it will be seen through the switchgear 13 so that further gas cannot flow.
If, according to FIG. 2, the device is built into an expediently cylindrical container 1 $ open on one side with a retaining bracket 23 and the open side is provided with a rubber edge 19, you can press the rubber edge against riveted and welded points on gas lines and containers Detect leaks.
The optical and acoustic signals 21 and 22 are then perceived through a window 20. In this embodiment, the switchgear 13 and the line 15 and accessories 7, 8, 14, 1.5tt, 16 and 17, and the cable 10 are missing.
