Metal container for liquids. The present invention relates to a metal receptacle intended to contain liquids and in particular beer.
This receptacle comprises a metal body with an attached bottom and a capital that is also attached, provided with a filling and emptying neck.
According to the invention, this container is closed with the aid of a metal cap, the bottom of which has an opening and inside at least one rib and at least one groove surrounding the opening, the edge of the gou lot being folded towards the end. interior perpendicu lairement to the axis of the neck and also having at least one groove and at least one rib corresponding respectively to the rerve and to the groove of the capsule, the latter covering the neck and being forced into that -this,
so that the ribs are imprinted in a metal disc and a sealing washer interposed between the cap and the neck and deform them so that they penetrate into the corresponding crorges. The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the container according to the invention.
In this drawing: Fig. 1 is a sectional view of the closed container; Fig. 2 and 3 are sectional, detailed views of the neck and of the. capsule before and after closure.
1 is the cylindrical body of the metal receptacle, 2 its attached bottom fixed by crimping, 3 its added capital also fixed by crimping and presenting the neck 4. The edge of the neck is folded inwards perpendicular to the axis of the neck and this edge has a circular rib 5 and a circular groove 6 followed on the inside by a second rib.
The metal closure cap 7 has its edge which fits very exactly on the external wall of the neck and its bottom has an opening a and a circular rib 8 as well as a circular groove 8 'turning the opening. a and corresponding respectively to the groove 6 and to the rib 5 of the edge of the neck.
In the bottom of the capsule is housed a disk 9 of aluminum or other ductile metal and on this is placed a washer 10 of cork or other sealing material.
We see in fig. 8 that by pushing the capsule on the neck, the rib 8 of the cap sule is imprinted in the disc and the washer and makes them penetrate into the groove 6, tan say that the rib 5 of the neck. washer and the disc in the groove 8 'of the capsule.
To close the container described, the first step is to place the metal disc in the bottom of the capsule, then the washer. The neck is then capped with the capsule and it is pressed onto this neck using a machine. encapsulate which may be of any known type.
Under the pressure exerted, the nerves of the neck and of the capsule are strongly imprinted in the metal disc and in the washer, deforming them so as to make them penetrate into the corresponding grooves, thus ensuring absolute closure. waterproof.
To open the container and empty the contents, it suffices to pierce, with any instrument, the metal disc through the opening a of the capsule.
