Tondeuse ' barbe.
Beard clipper. The invention relates to a beard trimmer comprising two comb-shaped blades superimposed on one another and one of which is movable and driven in a rectilinear back-and-forth movement relative to the another, these two blades being mounted on a support having a handle, through which passes a control shaft of the movable blade.
The mower according to the invention is distinguished by constructive features allowing the adjustment of the position of the blades in order to reduce the danger of cutting oneself.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section thereof, the mower comprising a flexible transmission with removable coupling; fig. 2 shows a section along the line II-II of FIG. 1, the flexible transmission being detached; figs. 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively show, in perspective, the two blades, a clamping plate and the support for the blades of this mower.
The mower shown has a support 4 fixed to the end of a hollow handle 5. This support has two protruding side cheeks 6 each having a free edge constituting a ridge 6 '. On the support are mounted two blades 7 and 8, comb-shaped, superimposed on one another and whose two toothed side edges extend parallel to the edges 6 'and are separated from the latter by a gap adjustable. For this purpose, the blade 7 is connected to the support by means of two adjustable columns 9 passing freely through the openings of the blade 8 and engaging in the bores of the support 4, in which they are each held in place by means a set screw 10.
In this way, the position. of the blade 7 is made adjustable relative to the support. This outer blade 7 is crossed by the columns 9 and retained by a head which each column comprises. The blade 7 is fixed relative to the support, while the blade 8 is movable and is driven by a recti line back-and-forth movement relative to the blade 7.
A clamping plate 11 is arranged between the support 4 and the movable plate 8 and causes the latter to press against the fixed blade 7, this plate 11 being subjected to the action of two springs there coil 12 each housed in a depression of the support 4.
The columns 9 passing through the clamping plate 11 and the movable blade 8, the plate 11. and the blade 8 are drilled for this purpose, the first with two holes 13, and the second with two elongated guide openings 14 providing the blade 8 with a perfectly straight reciprocating movement.
In the handle 5 is fitted a shaft 15 intended to communicate to the movable blade 8 the reciprocating movement. This shaft is held in place longitudinally in the handle by means of two pegs 16 fixed in this handle 5 and engaged by their inner ends in a circular groove 17 of the shaft.
The free end of the shaft 15 has a male coupling member 15 'for connecting this shaft to a flexible transmission, while the front end of said shaft has an eccentric tenon 18 which passes through an opening 19 relatively large of the wire clamping plate and engages in a transverse groove 20 cut in the movable blade 8.
When the shaft 15 is driven by a rotational movement on itself, the tenon 18 communicates to the blade 8 a rectilinear reciprocating movement, but can e move in the opening 19 without abutting against the edges -of this or verture.
The drive shaft 15 is connected by its male coupling member 15 ', which is prismatic in shape, to a flexible transmission cable 22 rotated by an electric motor. This cable is enclosed in a protective sheath 23, the end of which is fixed to a socket 24. On the end of the cable 22 is fixed (welded) a female coupling member 25 rotatably mounted in the socket 24 and in which the male member 15 'of the shaft 115 is engaged.
The member 25 is mounted in the bottom of the socket 24, the free edge of which is provided with bayonet joint notches 26. The pins 16 protrude outside: on the handle 5, on the end of which the socket 24 adapts amavably and is held in place by the engagement of the protruding parts of the ankles in the notches 26. By adapting the socket to the handle, the engagement of the male member 15 'in the gold is achieved. female gane 25 and, consequently, the coupling of the shaft 15 and the transmission cable 22, the sleeve being held in place by the bayonet joint formed by the pins 16 and the notches 26.
The support 4 is shown in isolation in FIG. 6. There are the bores for the passage of the columns 9, the indentations for the springs 12, one of the tapped holes for the setting screws 10 and the hole for the adjustment of the handle 5. The protruding cheeks 6 of the support decrease. the danger of cutting oneself.
