Cardboard box. The present invention relates to a cardboard box, intended to contain in particular cigarettes, comprising a container and a cover made from a single sheet of cardboard cut and folded and in which the cover is connected to the container by a part of carton arranged so as to constitute a hinge which is arranged along the upper edge of one of the sides of the container and which allows the lid to be folded over the container from the position in which the bottom of this lid extends the side of the container.
This box is characterized in that a part of cardboard, adjacent to that constituting the first hinge, is arranged so as to constitute a second hinge allowing reverse rotation of the cover from said position.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, three embodiments of the box forming the subject of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 are views, from the front and from the back, of a sheet of cardboard intended to form the container and the lid of the first embodiment of the box, said sheet being cut and prepared for its use. folding and its assembly; Fig. 3 is a section on III-II-1 of the fi-. 2 on a larger scale; Fig. 4 is a partial sectional view on a large scale of the box according to the first embodiment, opened; Figs. 5 and 6 are views similar to FIG. 3, relating to the second and the third embodiment.
The container 2 and the lid 3 of the box 1 are made of a single sheet of cardboard cut as shown in fig. 1 and 2 and prepared with slits halfway through the thickness of the cardboard. These slots are called tracings and are designated by 4, and allow the edges of parts 2 and 3 to be folded forward in FIG. 2.
The tongues 2a and 3a cut from these edges are, after folding, fixed in a known manner, gluing or stapling, inside the adjacent edges. The tracing is therefore done on the front of the sheet, intended to become the outside of the box. An upsetting 5 of the cardboard made from then the front, forms a bulge on the back and constitutes a first hinge disposed along the upper edge of side 2b of the container which allows the lid to be folded down onto the container from the position of the lid. , in which its bottom 3b extends this side 2b of the container.
A slit 6, opening onto the inside of the box, is drawn parallel to the hinge 5 immediately next to it and halfway through the thickness of the carton to form a second hinge. This allows rotation in the opening direction from the above position, so that the box can be opened more fully without a dangerous force having to be applied. This overcomes the drawback of known boxes of this type that there is a risk of tearing when you want to open them or which, due to the stiffness of their cover provided with a single hinge, tend to close when throwing. cigarettes outside. , The tracing 6 could as well be on the left as on the right of the repressed hinge 5 in fig. 3.
In the embodiment of FIG. 5, the two hinges are formed by parallel and adjacent slots 6 and 7 halfway through the thickness of the cardboard and one of which opens to the outside and the other to the inside of the box.
In the embodiment of FIG. 6, the two hinges 8 and 9 are obtained by pushing back the cardboard alternately from the outside and the inside of the box. The repression 9 forms a bulge on the outside of the box. The meanings of these repressions could also be reversed. as also those of the slots 6 and 7 in fig. 5.
It will be noted that the lateral edges of the cover of the box shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, converge slightly towards each other going towards the edge opposite the hinges instead of being exactly perpendicular to it, so that when the box is closed they exert pressure against the side edges of the container, so that the key lid remains closed despite the tendency it may have to open due to the elasticity of the hinge.
