Process for the preparation of a 2-ogyehrysen monosulfonic acid. It has been found that a 2-oxychrysene monosulphonic acid can be obtained when 2-oxychrysene is treated with sulphonating agents.
The sodium 2-oxychrysenmonosulfonsaure forms a colorless powder that can be recrystallized from water. The 2-Oxychrysenmonosulfonsäure couples with 1 @ iazoverbindungen. By methylating the 2-oxychrysenic monosulfonic acid, the corresponding methoxy derivative is obtained, which can be converted into an acid chloride with a melting point of 200 to 202.
The 2-oxychrysenic monosulphonic acid is a valuable starting product for the manufacture of dyes.
It is useful if the sulfonation in the presence of organic inert diluents, such as. B. nitrobenzene, chloroform or trichlorobenzene, Runaway leads.
<I>Example<B>1.-</B> </I> <B> 48.8 </B> parts of 2-oxychrysene are introduced into 480 parts of nitrobenzene with stirring; to this end, 24 parts of chlorosulfonic acid are added dropwise at 8 to 10 within 3/4 hours. The mixture is stirred at this temperature for 3 hours and then for 16 hours at 18 to 20 hours. The reaction mixture is freed from most of the nitrobenzene by filtration and the remainder is blown off with steam. Almost complete dissolution occurs.
For cleaning, animal charcoal is added, boiled and filtered. By salting out the filtrate with sodium chloride, a 2-oxychrysenmonosulfonic acid sodium is separated in very good yield.
<I> Example 2: </I> 12.2 parts of 2-Oxychrysen are mixed with <B> 120 </B> parts of tetrachloroethane and, with stirring, at 8 to <B> 10 '</B> 5.2 parts of monohydrate added dropwise within 1/2 an hour. The temperature is held at 8 to 10 'for 4 hours; it is then increased to 18 to 20 and stirred for 16 hours at this temperature.
The reaction mixture is diluted with ice and water and the tetrachloroethane is distilled off with steam, the 2-oxychrysenic monosulfonic acid going into solution and being able to be separated from unchanged oxychrysenic by filtration. By salting out the filtrate with common salt, the 2-Oxychrysenmonosulfonsäure can be obtained in the form of the sodium salt.
Example 3: 8.6 parts of chlorosulfonic acid are added dropwise to 45 parts of pyridine while cooling at 20 to 30 '. After the excess pyridine has been distilled off in vacuo at 80 to 90 ', 12.2 parts of 2 = oxychrysene are added and the mixture is stirred for 1.6 hours at 1:35 to 140'.
The melt is then discharged into water, made alkaline and the pyridine is distilled off with steam. The aqueous solution is filtered to remove small amounts of impurities, acidified to Congo with hydrochloric acid and boiled. Some unaffected 2-Oxychrysen separates out, which can be removed by filtration. By salting out with common salt, a 2-oxychrysenmonosulfonsaures sodium can be separated.
