Process for the preparation of a saturated dihydrochloroketone. In switzerland. Patent No. 181805 a process is described, according to which from the z. B. the procedure of the sehweiz. Patent No. 164366 resulting residues an unsaturated chloroketone of the formula C "H" 0CI from the F. P. 156.7 to 157.5 C who can be obtained.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a saturated dihydrochloroketone, which is characterized in that the unsaturated chloroketone of the formula C1oHz70CI and from F.P.
The double bond of the above unsaturated ketone can, as experiments have shown, easily by activated hydrogen in the usual way, eg. B. hydrogenate by the action of hydrogen in the presence of catalysts such as palladium and derglei chen. The hydrogenation can also be carried out at an elevated temperature. The reaction can also take place under pressure. In addition to palladium, other customary hydrogenation catalysts or their mixtures are also suitable as catalysts.
Instead of catalytically activated hydrogen, hydrogen that has been activated in another way, e.g. B. Hydrogen in statu nascendi, who uses the.
The hydrogenation takes place, for. B. in such a way that you dissolve the unsaturated chloroketone in alcohol, add colloidal palladium and shake with hydrogen. The reaction is faster at elevated temperature. After the uptake of hydrogen has ceased, the catalyst is filtered off, for example, and the solution is concentrated.
A saturated chloroketone of the formula crystallizes. C, 3 HzflOC1 with a melting point of <B> 173 </B>, which gives none of the color reactions of the unsaturated concrete. It has already been described in the literature and is intended to be used as an intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. Example: The chloroketone of the formula C "H" 0C1 and from F.
P. 156.7 to 157.5 C is hydrogenated with hydrogen in alcoholic or glacial acetic acid solution using a palladium catalyst (palladium black, palladium - barium sulfate or Pd-CaCO 3 catalyst).
After a double bond has been saturated, the carbonyl group is also attacked and surprisingly easily reduced to the CHOH group with the addition of a further mole of H # -; for this reason it is advisable to use the saturated chloroketone as semicarbazone (F.
P. 2'85), from whose mother liquors the hydrogen-rich components of the hydrogenation can be obtained by sublimating in a high vacuum. By cleaving the semicarbazone with dilute acids, the dihydro-chloroketone C "Hz (, OCl, - which is obtained from dilute alcohol in prismatic needles from F.P.
<B> 173 '</B> (uncorrect.) Crystallizes, shows no color reaction with tetranitomethane and only shows a weak yellow coloration with acetic anhydride and concentrated sulfuric acid. Yield up to 95%.
