La fig. 4 est une élévation de côté et de face de l'organe de liaison des bras de levier commandant le clapet représenté fig. 3; La fig. 5 représente le raccord à pas de vis inversés et son joint servant à la fixation du bouchon pendant le transport ou à la fixation du raccord solidaire de la canalisa tion d'utilisation du gaz comprimé; La fig. 6 est une coupe de la seconde forme d'exécution; La fig. 7 en est un plan interne; La fig. 8 est une élévation du clapet mo difié; La fig. 9 représente en plan la fourche servant à immobiliser le clapet pour le trans port;
Regulator device for compressed gas contained in a bottle. The subject of the invention is a tensioning device for compressed gas contained in a bottle.
The regulator device according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises an expansion chamber integral with the bottle containing the compressed gas and provided with a gas inlet orifice and an outlet orifice which can be connected to the gas use pipe, the gas inlet opening normally being closed by means of a valve applied against a washer of compressible material by means of a counter spring, this valve comprising a prismatic part moving in a hollow cylinder allowing the passage of gas between the internal wall of said cylinder and the external wall of the prismatic part of the valve, when the latter has left contact with the compressible ring,
under the effect of a thrust exerted on a rod integral with the prismatic part of the valve. The appended drawing represents, by way of examples, two embodiments of the positive pressure reducer device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a section of the first embodiment; Fig. 2 is an internal plan view; Fig. 3 is an elevation and a cross section along x-y of the valve controlling the flow of gas.
Fig. 4 is a side and front elevation of the link member of the lever arms controlling the valve shown in FIG. 3; Fig. 5 shows the reverse screw thread connector and its gasket used for fixing the cap during transport or for fixing the connector integral with the piping for the use of compressed gas; Fig. 6 is a section of the second embodiment; Fig. 7 is an internal plan; Fig. 8 is an elevation of the modified valve; Fig. 9 is a plan of the fork serving to immobilize the valve for transport;
Fig. 10 shows a plan of the modified lower lever arm; Fig. 11 is a plan view of the screw cap; Fig. 12 is an elevation and a section along x - y of the valve control member.
The first embodiment (FIG. 1) comprises: an expansion chamber 1 made integral with the bottle 2 containing the compressed gas, the junction of the expansion chamber and the bottle is preferably made by autogenous welding.
The lower end of the expansion chamber 1 is provided with an appendage 3 in which is formed a cavity receiving a washer 4 of compressible material such as rubber for example, which rests on a shoulder and which is held in place by a connector 5 being screwed into appendix 3, holes 6 are made transversely in this appendix.
In the cavity of appendix 3 is arranged a counter spring 7 resting, on the one hand, on the bottom of the cavity and, on the other hand, under the shoulder of a valve 8, which is guided in the connection 5 by a triangular part 9 surmounted by a rod 10, this in appearance constitutes the valve controlling the flow of the compressed gas contained in the bottle 2.
The control of this valve is carried out by means of a flexible membrane 11 integral with a pusher 12 on which acts an antagonistic spring 13 resting, on the other hand, on the lower end of a rod 14 file ted, integral with the screw cap 15, this plug is mounted on the cylindrical threaded portion of the dome 16 which is screwed onto the expansion chamber and also serves to hold the flexible membrane 11.
The pusher 12 acts on the rod 10 of the pet valve 9, by means of a lever 17 movable around the pointed screws 18 (fig. 2), which would move it from this lever is linked to the movement of a similar part 19 movable around the set screws 20, this connection is effected by means of a part 21 (fig. 4) in the shape of a diamond whose sharp edges behave in a manner similar to that of the knives. 'a balance, rods 22 being housed in the holes 23 made in the lever arms 17 and 19 hold the part 21 in place.
We realize that the action of the push button 12 on the end of the lever 17 will cause the latter to blink downwards and make a movement in the same direction, but of lower amplitude on the end of the lever 19, there will therefore be for a certain stroke of the pous evening 12 a much shorter stroke of the rod 10 integral with the valve 9.
The expansion chamber 1 is provided with a connector 24, the ends of which are threaded in opposite directions so that the withdrawal of the stopper 25 tends to screw said connector into its housing, a washer 26 of compressible material such as rubber, for example. seal form and prevent any leakage during handling required by the transport of the bottles 2; for this purpose also the cap 15 constituting the operating member of the robi net is partly unscrewed as shown in fig. 1 and the cover 27 protects said stopper, we realize under these conditions that the bottle 2 can be handled without any special precaution, all the delicate parts being protected.
The operation of the first embodiment which has just been described takes place as follows: To use the compressed gas, the plug 25 is first removed which is replaced by the connector fixed to the flexible pipe or ri gide leading to the devices for use, then the cover 27 is unscrewed to allow access to the organs controlling the flow and stopping of the gas, the stopper 15 is then screwed in fully, which has the effect of making ash the rod 14 integral and whose length has been determined beforehand during the workshop setting of the device.
The rod 14 acts on the spring 13, the flexible membrane 11 and the pusher 12 which oscillates the levers 17 and 19 by means of the. part? 1, the rod 10 is at. in turn pushes down again and forces the valve 8 to separate from the washer 4, the compressed gas contained in the bottle \? then escapes through the holes 6 and the sides of the triangular part 9, it spreads into the chamber 1 where it relaxes to finally exit through the fitting? 4 and pass through the pipe to be used.
In the first embodiment (fi * 1 to 5), the valve 8 pressing on its seat made of compressible material 4 is liable to move as a result of the handling of the bottle 2 and therefore cause leaks.
The second embodiment (fig. 6 to 12) overcomes this drawback by means of a modification allowing the valve 8 to be blocked in the closed position when the bottle 2 is not in use.
The valve 8 is integral with the rod 10, which ends with a mushroom 29. A cleat 28 which can oscillate about an axis 3 (), carries at the end opposite to this axis a fork with two branches 31 between the- which is housed the rod 10.
The plug 25 is drilled and tapped to 'receive the screw 32, we realize that this screw pressing on the heel 33 at a level lower than the axis 30, will force the cleat 28 and consequently the branches of the fork 31 in lifting the mushroom 29 and consequently in urging the valve 8 to rest strongly on its seat 4, thus preventing the compressed gas in the bottle 2 from spreading into the expansion chamber 1; we can imagine that this arrangement will allow. to carry out all handling without fear of leaks.
In order to allow the free passage of the rod 10, of the valve 8, the lever 19 carries an opening 34, on the other hand, the space necessary for the passage of the cleat 28 and the mushroom 29 is ensured by backing up as the lever arm 17. The stopper 15 is screwed onto the dome 16 and can be immobilized at the desired location by means of a screw 35, the bottom of this stopper has an opening 36, the. oval shape allows the free passage of the middle part 37 and the lower part 38 of the part 39, this part having the effect of acting on the spring 13 and the membrane 11 when the middle part 37 is immobilized under the bottom of the stopper 15, this immobilization is obtained by rotating the part 39 a quarter of a turn after its introduction.
The other members of the device described with regard to the first embodiment remain unchanged, as does the principle.
Dimensions, materials used, layout and shape of parts may vary.
It will be noted that the devices described combine the entire valve and the regulator in a single unit, which usually constitute two separate devices and require the user to install the regulator himself, which can lead to leaks.
