Gasmaskenfenster.
Gas mask window. The invention relates to a gas mask window. There are already gas mask windows be known that are attached to the mask by screwing, namely those in which the screw thread for the sight glass bearing part sits on the outside of the mask and those in which the screwing takes place from the inside of the mask . These known windows have a relatively large weight due to the cast design, are expensive to manufacture and cumbersome to install due to the required processing. In the case of other gas mask windows that are made of sheet metal, rolled or tied into the masking material, the sight glasses cannot be replaced by themselves.
The present invention relates to a gas mask window with a window frame made of sheet metal, in which, above all, an easy change of the sight glass and any clear pane that is present on the inside of the latter is made possible. For this purpose, the window frame, which is preferably made of one piece and into which the sight glass is inserted from the inside of the mask, has an at least approximately L-shaped cross section. One frame leg serves as a support surface for the sight glass and the sealing ring, while the other frame leg is provided with an internal thread, into which a pressure ring holding the sight glass is screwed.
The ver provided with internal thread surface of the window frame can be designed trough-shaped for the purpose of binding the mask material outside in a known manner. The edge of the mask material to be bound is advantageously turned towards the inside of the mask, because in this case the gas mask window only protrudes so far beyond the mask surface
that in the event of an accidental impact against external obstacles, it cannot hook into these and thereby endanger the mask sealing fit. The window as such only protrudes in a bead-like manner, while the parts built into the frame are protected. The dead space of the mask can also be reduced as a result.
The pressure ring used to hold the sight glass can advantageously be approximately U-shaped in cross-section and have two legs at an acute angle to each other, one of which presses on the sight glass, while the other serves as an abutment for a snap ring. Since the two legs of the pressure ring preferably have the same inner diameter in order to be able to use clear disks the size of this diameter.
A circlip, which is roughly J-shaped in a manner known per se, can be used with its outer edge against the inwardly directed for this purpose as an abutment or lever surface. supporting the serving leg of the pressure ring, while the flange of the snap ring facing the inside of the mask serves as a grip edge.
When inserting such a snap ring, it presses due to its elasticity on the inwardly directed leg of the pressure ring and pushes itself up so far that it presses on the clear disc and holds it through.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the new gas mask window is Darge, namely FIG. 1 shows a view from behind and FIG. 2 shows an axial cross-section.
a is the cross-section L-shaped (or approximately L-shaped) designed, provided with internal thread, made of a piece of sheet metal be standing window frame.
In. The sight glass f is inserted into this from the inside of the mask with the interposition of a sealing ring. The sight glass is pressed firmly onto the sealing ring and held gas-tight in the window frame by a pressure ring c, which is approximately U-shaped in cross section and has two legs at an acute angle to one another and screwed into the frame a.
A clear pane g rests against the inside of the sight glass and is held in the pressure ring c by the snap ring h, which has a j-shaped cross section, so that the clear pane is pressed onto the sight glass. The two legs of the pressure ring have the same inner diameter. The circlip 1a rests with the outer edge i of its web on the leg 1c of the pressure ring c, which is inclined towards the inside of the mask, while its flange l, which is inclined towards the inside of the mask, serves as a grip edge.
A fine thread can be used to screw in the pressure ring c because the thread is inside the mask and is therefore completely protected against external mechanical influences. The pressure ring c is seen on its lower leg inclined downwards with recesses na, m 'for receiving a tool for screwing the pressure ring on. If you want to remove the sight glass or the clear disk, take out the snap ring h and then the clear disk, unscrew the pressure ring c-out of the frame a and you can then replace the sight glass f .
If the window described is to be installed in a corresponding opening of the mask material d, a binding tape or binding ring e made of metal or another suitable material is placed around the, as can be seen from Fig. 2, after the mask interior to be bent edge of the mask material d , which presses the edge of the mask fabric into the trough-shaped outer surface of the inner-threaded frame b.
If rubber or rubber-containing materials are used as mask material, the window frame is leaded or galvanized and painted at the point of binding. In this case, too, it can be made from a copper alloy.
