Holder for plastic covers, in particular on lights
It is known that luminaires that are completely closed by transparent covers protect against the
Penetration of dust and insects must be sealed, the problem arises, with long edges of thin metal parts and plastic parts or the edges of plastic housings
To releasably connect plastic parts of the cover under pressure.
It has been shown that in practically all known solutions to this problem, the plastic parts suffer disadvantageous and permanent deformations due to the cold flow or the heat generated by the lamp, which can lead to leaks and ultimately to the loosening of the connection.
The invention relates to a holder for plastic covers, in particular on lights of all types, in which the cranked edge of the plastic cover engages behind a protruding part and springs are attached to the housing, which additionally press the cranked edge into the locked position.
The aforementioned problem is solved according to the invention in that the springs, in the position in which the cranked edge of the cover is normally engaged, rest against stops which prevent further spring pressure on the edge of the cover. Since the springs rest against stops when the cover is snapped in normally, the plastic parts are freed from the permanent deformation pressure of these springs as long as the normal snap-in position exists. However, if a deformation occurs in the sense of moving out of the latching position, the springs become effective and hold the cover firmly. The attacks mentioned can also serve as a support for a sealing strip.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. Fig. 1 shows a cross section through the holder in the normal snap-in position and Fig. 2 shows the same cross section, but after a deformation.
The plastic cover 1 has a cranked edge 2, which is behind a fixed to the housing 3, projecting part 4, for. B. by self-suspension, engages. Several leaf springs 5 distributed over the circumference of the housing press the edge 2 when it is inserted into the latching position, but as soon as the normal latching position shown in FIG. 1 is reached, they rest against a stop 6 so that the spring pressure on the edge 2 does not is more effective. This means that even after prolonged use, this edge cannot be deformed. The stop 6 and the protruding part 4 sit on a common frame 7 which is fastened on the edge of the housing 3. The stop 6 also serves as a support for a sealing strip 8.
If there are deformations during prolonged use that could cause the bent edge to emerge from the latching position, such as B. is shown in Fig. 2, the springs 5 come into effect again and hold the cranked edge in its position of engagement on the projecting part 2 firmly.
The arrangement can be changed in various ways without deviating from the spirit of the invention. For example, the housing 3 can also consist of plastic, or it can be a different support part for the plastic cover that does not have the shape of a housing.
