Process for the production of vessels from fiber material suspended in a liquid. It is already known to produce vessels from fiber material suspended in a liquid, for example by the gray slip process or by hurling a slurry of wood pulp or cellulose into a sieve shape using compressed air. However, brine vessels have the disadvantage of a rough surface on the inside and a less dense structure. In particular, it is not possible to make the bottom of the vessel sufficiently strong.
It has also been proposed to fabricate the vessels by centrifuging the vorerwähn th slurries, but without that the aforementioned disadvantages would have all been eliminated.
The present process is based on the fact that it combines the centrifugation process with a pressing process which is used to form the bottom of the vessel.
The accompanying drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of a device used to carry out the method.
Fig. 1 is a vertical section through the device and Figs. 2 and 3 show rod details on a larger scale.
The device shown has a centrifuge with the base plate 2, which is expediently removably fastened to the vertical shaft <B> 1 </B>. The shaft <B> 1 </B> is driven via a bevel gear <B> 3. < / B> The shaft <B> 1 </B> could also be driven by an electric motor directly coupled to it. In an annular groove 2a of the base plate 2, a multi-part, cylindrical coarse screen 4 is exchangeably inserted, the parts of which are held together by a ring <B> 5 </B>. A base plate <B> 6, which sits on the upper end of the shaft <B> 1 </B> and rests on the base plate 2 with its lower edge and has drainage holes 6a, is used in conjunction with a pressing device for formation of the bottom of the vessel.
Said pressing device has a vertical hollow shaft 7 which is arranged displaceably in a zy-cylindrical guide 8 in the vertical direction and by wedge and groove (Fig. 3) is secured against rotation ge. The shaft 7 is provided with a longitudinal serration 9 which meshes with a gear 10. The latter sits firmly on the axis 11 of a handwheel 12). The axis 11 is rotatable in a sleeve 13 which forms one piece with the guide 8. The latter is held by an unmarked yoke. The shaft 7 is stepped at 14. An angular ring 15 sits loosely on the offset part of the shaft 7. A helical spring 16 placed around the shaft rests on the one hand in the angular ring 15 and on the other hand against the cage 17 of a ball bearing 18.
The cage 17 rests on the neck 19 of a cover 20, which is loosely set by the shaft 7 and which covers the coarse screen 4 in the extended position in FIG. At the lower end of the shaft 7, a bearing bush 22 is attached by means of a pin 21. A pin 23 is held in this bearing bush 22 by means (not shown) that can be rotated in ball bearings 24. At its lower end, the Zap fen 23 has a flange 25 with which the perforated press plate 926 is connected by screws. An angular ring 27 is screwed onto the lower end of the bearing bushing 22, which, together with the flange 25, forms a labyrinth ligation, indicated schematically at 298, against the escape of oil.
The cover 20 is provided on its underside with an annular groove 21 into which the upper edge of the coarse sieve 4 can engage. The diameter of the pressing plate 26 is dimensioned such that the edge of the same cannot touch the inner wall of the vessel when the shaft 7 is moved upwards after the manufacture of a vessel has ended.
The inner side of the coarse sieve 4 and the top of the base plate 6 are lined with a removable fine sieve 30 made of one piece. The underside of the press plate 10 is also provided with a fine sieve. These fine sieves can, for example, consist of a wire mesh with a fiber material wrapping or of wire mesh that is covered on one side with a filter cloth.
Above the bearing bush 22, the hollow shaft 7 is provided with openings 31 for the passage of fiber material slurry, which is drawn from a container, not shown, through a flexible line, also not shown, e.g. B. a hose, the hollow shaft 7 is fed.
By means of the device described, the method is carried out as follows: After the base plate 6 and the coarse screen 4 are on the shaft 1 and / or. the base plate 2 are mounted, the fine sieve <B> 30 </B> is inserted and as much fiber material suspension is poured into the shape thus formed as is sufficient to form the bottom of the vessel. During this time, the ring 15, the spring 16, the cage 17, the cover 20 and the press plate 26 are located in the FIG B> 1 </B> position shown in dotted lines. Then, by turning the handwheel <B> 12 </B>, the shaft <B> 7 </B> with the press plate <B> 26 </B> and the cover 20 is moved downwards.
The cover 20 first rests, as shown in FIG. 1, in a drawn-out manner, on the upper edge of the coarse screen 4, while the press plate 26 moves further down until it has reached the drawn out position, whereby the filled material is pressed against the base plate <B> 6 </B>.
The water escapes through the holes in the press plate and the sieve 4, while any excess material escapes laterally between the press plate and fine sieve upwards. When the press plate <B> 26 </B> is in the working position, the pressure of the shoulder 14 of the shaft <B> 7 </B> on the ring <B> 15 </B> causes the spring < B> 16 </B> stretched-. Then material is poured into the mold through the hollow shaft 7 and the centrifuge is set in motion. In doing so, the base plate takes the press plate pressed against the fiber material with it and the pin 23 rotates in the ball bearings 24 of the bearing sleeve 22.
The coarse sieve 4 also takes along the cover 20, which rotates around the shaft 7 in the ball bearing 18. The entire mold, including the press plate, therefore rotates around the shaft 7, which in turn is stationary. The slurried fiber material rests in a uniform layer on the fine sieve 30, while the water is drained off by means not shown. In order to prevent the water from being thrown into the working area, a coarse sieve 4 is expediently arranged on the base plate 2, surrounding a certain distance, not shown, dumbbell. After a vessel has been completed, the shaft 7 together with the press plate 26 is moved upwards by means of the handwheel. The bearing bushing 22 abuts the cover 20 and takes the sen together with the parts 15 to 18 with up to the position shown in dotted lines.
The molding obtained can then be dried by introducing hot air into the mold.
In the illustrated embodiment, the bottom plate 6 is provided on the edge of its upper side with a circumferential recess 32, through which a reinforcing rib is created on the outside of the vessel bottom. This deepening can, however, be omitted.
Vessels that are subject to high demands in terms of strength can be reinforced with inserts made of wood, wire, wire mesh, etc. during manufacture.
To produce vessels of various sizes, only parts 2, 6, 4, 20, 26 and 30 need to be replaced accordingly.
Instead of being independent of the centrifuge, as in the illustrated embodiment, the pressing device could also be arranged on the Zen trifuge itself.
The technical progress in the process described is that it combines the advantages of the centrifugation process, namely faster and cheaper work and the creation of a more even structure of the vessel side walls compared to the compressed air process, with the further advantage that the pressing process provides a lot stronger and more resistant vessel bottom can be produced than with the known methods With regard to the size of the vessels to be produced, the process is not subject to any restriction, so that Paek casks etc. can also be produced without further ado.
