Description

Headlight for bicycles, comprising means for preventing the theft of bases and bulbs. Almost all known bicycle headlights are constructed identically in principle; the parabolic reflector is held in place at. inside its protective cap by a stop ring screwed onto the central tubing of the reflector which passes through the cap and which is intended to receive the movable base of the electric bulb. This base is held in the tubing, respectively fixed socket by simple friction and it is introduced there from outside, with the bulb mounted.

The result of this easy assembly is frequent loss of the socket with the bulb, losses that some unscrupulous persons seek to compensate by simply obtaining supplies to the detriment of third parties.

The object of the present invention is a headlight for bicycles which comprises means for preventing the theft of pedestals and hens. This headlight is characterized by an or gane capable of being made integral with the protective cap of the reflector and constructed so as to lock the movable base of the bulb. The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the invention.

Fig. 1 represents a. headlight complete with safety device; Fig. 2 gives a plan view of the security bar; Fig. 3 shows as a variant a stop ring provided with a special stop screw.

The bar according to fig. 2 includes a simple washer provided with at least three claws 3 and a rod 2. In the latter is a hole 8. This bar is simply placed on the cap 10 of the mobile base that the claws 3 are crimped, tan say that the rod 2 of the bar is blocked either to the protective cap by a bolt 6, or directly to the neck of the headlight by the bolt 7.

The claws of the bar could of course also be welded to the cap 10 of the mobile base, or replaced by a complete crimping of the bar in said cap 10. Likewise, the rod 2 can be made in one piece with the cap 10.

Another embodiment of this in vention, more discreet than the first, is represented by the arrangement of the stop ring 4 according to FIG. 3. This ring is completed by the addition of a stop screw 9 which passes through the fixed sleeve extending the reflector to become trapped in a longitudinal slot provided for this purpose in the mobile base which, after tightening of the screw fully, can still be moved axially in the socket for focusing, but never but removed completely. This screw will be placed downwards, so that it is not visible, and the stop ring 4 itself can only be unscrewed when the screw 9 has been removed beforehand.
