Die Ausbeute be trägt 99 %.
Process for the preparation of condensation products from phloroglucinol and aromatic amines. In the reports of the German Chemical Society, 23 (1890), volume of papers page 488, Minunni describes a process for the preparation of symmetrical di (phenylamino) oxybenzene, respectively. Di- (p-tolyl-amino) -oxybenzene, which consists in
that 1 mol. Phloroglucinol with 2 mol. p-toluidine respectively. Aniline is heated to 140-150 C in a closed vessel for 6 hours. According to Minunni Selbat, the products mentioned are only formed in a yield of 40% of theory after this process. Minunni apparently worked with anhydrous phloroglucine.
It has now been found that the production of ablcher condensation products from phloroglucinol and aromatic amines, in which a hydroxyl group of the phloroglucinous nucleus is still present, takes place in excellent yield by heating phloroglucinol with 2 mol. Of an aromatic amine, if the Implementation of the components is carried out in the presence of water.
The amount of water which is used in the implementation of the reaction components under consideration here by the present process can vary within wide limits. Under certain circumstances, the two molecules of crystal water that are present in the crystallized phloroglucinol are sufficient.
The condensation products obtained, which diarylaminomonooxybenzenes represent len, are valuable intermediates for the preparation of dyes or other organic compounds.
The process is explained in more detail by the following examples: Example 1 40.5 parts of phloroglucine (containing water of crystallization) are dissolved in 500 parts of water and 46.5 parts of aniline are added; the mixture is heated to boiling under reflux for 50 hours. After adding sodium hydroxide solution to alkalinity, the unchanged aniline is blown off with steam, the solution is filtered and the diplienyl diaminooxybenzene formed is deposited by adding hydrochloric acid until it is neutral.
It is produced in a yield of 80% and has the same properties as the product described by Minunni.
In the same way, the condensation products of 1 mole of phloroglucinol with 2 moles of p-toluidine, m-toluidine, p-anisidine and p-chloroaniline each can be prepared.
Example 2: - 40.5 parts of phloroglucinol (containing water of crystallization) and 46.5 parts of aniline are heated to 100 ° for 8 hours with stirring and reflux. After adding sodium hydroxide solution, the unchanged aniline is blown off with steam, the reaction mixture is allowed to cool and, if necessary, after neutralization with hydrochloric acid, the resulting precipitate is dissolved in dilute sodium hydroxide solution after suction for cleaning, filtered and precipitated by adding hydrochloric acid until neutral.
The diphenyldiaminooxybenzene obtained has, after recrystallization from toluene, the melting point 110 ° and is identical to the product obtained from Minunni. The yield is 99%.
Example 3: 40.5 parts of phloroglucinol (containing water of crystallization) and 53.5 parts of p-toluidine are heated to 100 ° for 8 hours under reflux in a stirrer. After adding sodium hydroxide solution and blowing off the unchanged p-toluidine with steam, work-up is carried out in the same manner as in Example 2. The yield of di- (p-tolylamino) -oxybenzene is 90% of theory.
Example .4: 40.5 parts of phloroglucinol (containing water of crystallization) and .46.5 parts of aniline are heated to 140 0 for 8 hours in an enamelled pressure vessel while stirring. After cooling, the reaction product is mixed with alkali, the unchanged aniline is blown off with steam and the rest of the procedure is as in Example 2. The diphenyldiaminooxybenzene is produced in a yield of 93.7% of theory.
Example 5: 40.5 parts of phloroglucinol (containing water of crystallization) and 53.5 parts of p-toluidine are heated to 140 ° for 8 hours in an enamelled pressure vessel. The work-up is carried out as in Example 4. The di- (p-tolyl-amino) -oxybenzene obtained has the same properties as the product obtained in Example 3 and is produced in a yield of 92%.
Example 6: 162 parts of phloroglucinol (containing water of crystallization) are heated under reflux for 16 hours in 15 times the amount of water with 190 parts of aniline oil and 25 parts of hydrochloric acid (stored weight 1.15). Then it is boiled with sodium hydroxide solution and enough water for a short time to remove small amounts of aniline, the undissolved 1.3.5-triphenyltriaminobenzene is filtered off, the filtrate is neutralized with hydrochloric acid and acidified with acetic acid, the 1.3.5-di- (phe - nylamino) -oxybenzene precipitates.
The yield is 79% of theory, while the triphenyltriaminobenzene is 9% of theory.
In the same way, the 1st 3rd 5- (di- (4'-methylphenylamino) -oxybenzene is obtained from phloroglucinol with p-toluidine, with p-chloroaniline the 1st 3rd ä-di- (4'- chlorphenylamino) - oxybenzene.
Example ? ': 162 parts of phloroglucinol (containing water of crystallization) are refluxed for 16 hours in 15 times the amount of water with 320 parts of beta-naphthylamine and 25 parts of hydrochloric acid (specific weight 1.15).
The filtered reaction product is crushed and the small excess of beta-naphthylamine is dissolved out with dilute hydrochloric acid, then dissolved in the required amount of 66% alcohol and sodium hydroxide solution hot, small insoluble constituents are filtered off and the filtrate is acidified with acetic acid, whereby the 1,3,5-di- (2'-naphthylamino) -oxybenzene precipitates in a yield of 80% of theory.
