Diesen Übelständen be gegnet vorliegende Erfindung in einwand freier Weise.
Process for hot riveting of bandages on steam turbine impellers. Riveting is often used to attach the bandages to steam turbine blades. For this purpose, the blade is finitely connected to the bandage by cold riveting, either by hammering or pressing.
As a result of this cold riveting, however, the high-quality and at the same time highly stressed material that is involved here is very often cold-deformed beyond the permissible extent, so that cracks appear during the work process described above or often later in the company who suffer damage to such paddle wheels.
Hot riveting of such bandages, which would counter the aforementioned inconvenience, has failed to this day due to the impossibility of heating the rivet pin to the annealing temperature alone so that it can be easily deformed in this state without the blade itself or the band being damaged significantly heated.
In order to make this possible, according to the method forming the subject of the present invention, the rivet pin to be heated is electrically heated by placing the electrode designed as a rivet head, with the riveting, e.g. B. by hammering, pressing, etc. takes place. This enables further electrical heating of the rivet pin during the deformation process.
This can be achieved, as the figure schematically showing an exemplary embodiment of a device for carrying out the present method, the pole of an electrical power source is on the turbine blade 4 to be riveted with the bandage 2 by means of one appropriate device (brush, pliers) attached; the + pole is brought into contact by means of a rivet head 3 with the hot rivet pin 1 to be processed. If the circuit is closed, a sufficiently strong electric current flows through the system and heats the rivet pin 1.
After the desired temperature has been reached, the desired riveting can be carried out by hitting or pressing the rivet head 3 forming an electrode. Depending on requirements, the circuit can be closed during the actual riveting process, the current intensity can be regulated or the circuit can be completely interrupted. This enables the material to be deformed to be kept at the desired temperature during the entire work process. After the heating that has taken place so far, especially small rivets (such as
B. in steam turbine impellers, etc.) he warmed rivets by the surrounding cold material masses and the riveting tool itself cooled so quickly that the material to be processed fell below the annealing temperature at the beginning of the riveting process, where hot riveting could not take place at all . The present invention counteracts these deficiencies in a satisfactory manner.
