Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Pigmentes. In dem Patent Nr. 172075 ist ein Ver fahren zur Herstellung eines Pigmentes be schrieben, welches auf dem Erhitzen von Phthalonitril mit Kupfer oder einem kupfer abgebenden Mittel beruht.
Wir haben nun gefunden, dass man, aus gehend von Phthalonitril, noch auf andere Weise zu einem Pigmente gelangen kann. Gemäss vorliegendem Verfahren geschieht dies dadurch, dass man Phthalonitril mit einem Alkalimetallalkoxyd erhitzt und das Metall aus der so erhaltenen Verbindung durch Behandeln mit Schwefelsäure entfernt. <I>Beispiel</I> 1,15 Teile Natrium werden in 32 Teilen kochendem Amylalkohol aufgelöst und 6,4 Teile Phthalonitril zugesetzt. Es entsteht sofort eine gelbe Farbe, welche rasch in tiefgrün übergeht, und eine glänzende Pur- purtnasse beginnt sich abzuscheiden.
Das Gemisch wird ca. eine halbe Stunde gekocht und der Amylalkohol abdestilliert. Der Rück stand wird zwei- oder mehrmal mit kochen dem Spiritus ausgezogen, um Unreinigkeiten aufzulösen. Aus dem Produkte wird dann durch Auflösung in kalter, konzentrierter Schwefelsäure, Eingiessen in Wasser und Abfiltern das Metall entfernt. Das so erhal tene, metallfreie und keine Alkyl- oder Alkoxy-Gruppe enthaltende Pigment ist mit dem in der britischen Patentschrift Nr. 389842 beschriebenen identisch.

We have now found that, starting from phthalonitrile, there are other ways to get pigments. According to the present process, this is done by heating phthalonitrile with an alkali metal alkoxide and removing the metal from the compound thus obtained by treatment with sulfuric acid. <I> Example </I> 1.15 parts of sodium are dissolved in 32 parts of boiling amyl alcohol and 6.4 parts of phthalonitrile are added. A yellow color develops immediately, which quickly turns into deep green, and a shiny purple wetness begins to separate out.
The mixture is boiled for about half an hour and the amyl alcohol is distilled off. The residue is extracted two or more times with boiling alcohol to dissolve impurities. The metal is then removed from the product by dissolving it in cold, concentrated sulfuric acid, pouring it into water and filtering it off. The pigment thus obtained, free of metal and containing no alkyl or alkoxy group, is identical to that described in British Patent No. 389842.
