Description
Process for the preparation of an oxyearboxylic acid. It has been found that the action of carbonic acid under pressure at elevated temperature on monooxy derivatives of ring systems of the general formula:
EMI0001.0003
in which X is O, S, SO or SO 2, or its alkali metal compounds are obtained by conventional methods to give oxycarboxylic acids of the ring systems mentioned.
The oxy bodies used as starting materials are obtained, for example, by the method of German Patent No. 591213.
The new oxycarboxylic acids are intermediate products for the manufacture of dyes.
The present patent relates to a process for the preparation of 2-oxydiphünylenoxyd-3-carboxylic acid. It is there. characterized in that an alkali metal salt of 2-oxydiphenylene oxide is allowed to act under pressure at elevated temperature and the 2-oxyphenylene oxide-3-carboxylic acid formed is deposited with the aid of a mineral acid. .
Examples: 1. 18.4 parts by weight of 3-oxydiphenylene oxide are converted into the potassium salt in a known manner. This is ground with 60 parts by weight of potassium carbonate and heated to 210 to 220 for eight to ten hours in an autoclave after injecting carbon dioxide.
After cooling, the carbonic acid pressure is released, the contents of the autoclave are dissolved in hot water and filtered. The galium salt of 2-oxydiphenylenoxy.d-3-carboxylic acid crystallizes out in needles. After cooling, it is filtered off with suction, the potassium salt is dissolved in water and the free oxycarboxylic acid is precipitated with acid. It crystallizes from pyridine in needles with a melting point of 245.
Your alcoholic solution turns a reddish blue when ferric chloride is added.
2. 20 parts by weight of 2-oxydiphenylene oxide are mixed with 100 parts by weight of dry potassium carbonate and introduced into an autoclave. You press carbon acid on and heated within five to six hours to 150 internal temperature and hold at this temperature for about ten to twelve hours. After cooling, the contents of the autoclave are dissolved in water, filtered and evaporated until the potassium salt crystallizes.
The potassium salt is filtered off with suction, redissolved in water and the free oxycarboxylic acid is precipitated with dilute hydrochloric acid. It crystallizes from pyridine in needles with a melting point of 245. It is identical to the connection obtained in accordance with paragraph 1.
