Winch for handling buckets. The present invention relates to a winch with two drums for operating all automatic buckets and in particular buckets for digging wells. This winch is characterized in that the perimeter of the opening and closing drums is equal to the development of the cable required to close or open the bucket and that a mechanical connection device is provided between the two drums, this mechanism being such that the relative rotational movement of the two drums is limited to one revolution.
According to an exemplary embodiment, the connecting device comprises in combination: a cleat carried by one of the lateral faces of the closing and lifting drum, a cleat carried by da lateral face, in view of the previous one, -of the opening drum, this cleat being arranged so as to be met by the cleat -of the iron meture drum, and an oscillating pawl capable of being erased using an operating device, this pawl being arranged so as to keep the stopper of the closing drum against the latch of the opening drum,
when said cleat has come into contact .du first at the end of the opening of the bucket.
In the accompanying drawing, given solely by way of example: FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram side view of a winch according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a plan view; Fig. 3 is a schematic view of the connecting mechanism between the two drums; Figs. 4 and 5 show, on a larger scale, the detail of the attachment to the bottom .du ca dre of the winch -frame of the sheers por both of the return pulleys.
According to the exemplary embodiment shown, the winch is composed of two drums; a drum 1, serving for the closing and lifting cable of the bucket and the other drum 2 serving for the winding -du cable-opening and retaining the bucket. This winch has been designed to perform the very rapid maneuvers which are necessary for this type of installation.
The drums 1 and 2 turn idle on a shaft 3 which is itself supported by two flanges 4 and 5. The drum 1 is driven by known means (friction, gears, motor, electric, gasoline or other).
The diameters of drums 1 and 2 are similar. The opening and retaining drum 2 carries a brake ring 6. The diameter of the closing and lifting drum is such that one revolution of this drum is sufficient to ensure full closing or opening. -of the dumpster.
A mechanical device connects the two drums 1 and 2 when the bucket is open, and drives the opening drum 2 when the bucket -est re mounted closed. This arrangement can be carried out as follows (fig. 3): The closing and lifting drum 1 carries a drive cleat 7.
The opening drum 2 itself carries a similar cleat 8. In addition, this drum 2 also carries a pawl 9 returned by a spring 10 which is arranged so as to lock the tab 7 of the drum 1 and make the drums let 2 integral with your will.
A pedal-control device 11 oscillating at 12, or the like, which can be -dis posed. Following the fi-. 3, makes it possible to raise the latch 9, thanks to a boss 9a of this latch and to release the latch 7 and make independent of the two drums 1 and 2.
Another characteristic of this winch is that it does not include a brake on the drum 1 for closing the bucket, this drum simply carrying the lifting control device.
By way of example, there is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a friction cammande device. The drum 1 comprises a friction ring 20 actuated by a roller 21 mounted on an oscillating member 22 also carrying a pulley 23 connected by a belt 24 to a motor, not shown. The member 22 is controlled by a cam 25 and oscillates slightly, in order to bring the roller 2.1 into contact with the crown 20 and away therefrom.
The cam 25 is fixed to a shaft 26 carrying yet another -came 27 which can be brought into contact with the brake ring 6. The shaft 26 is actuated by a lever 28.
Thus, if it is desired to rotate the drum 1, -on raises or lowers the lever 28, which puts the, roller 21 in contact with the crown 20 -and away the cam 27 -from the brake 6. If the 'one wishes to brake the drum 2, one acts on the lever 28 in an opposite direction, which brings the cam 27 into contact with the brake 6 and releases the drum 1.
The operation is as follows: when the bucket is -mounted closed, the drum 1 is driven by the motor in the direction of the arrow f 1 (fi. 2 and 3). The cleat 7 being in contact with the left face (Fig. 3) of the cleat 8 of the drum 2, this drum 2 is dragged at the same speed in the same direction f 1 as the drum 1; it winds up the cable, hence 1.3 (fig. 2) at the same speed as the drum 1 winds up the lifting cable 14 which, at this moment, supports the weight of the skip.
When the bucket has reached the top of the stroke, the drum 2 is braked, while the drum 1 is released. Immediately, for example under '1' the action of the central sliding piston contained in the bucket, the bucket opens, imparting to the drum 1 a movement opposite to that of the arrow f1, that is to say in the first direction the arrow f (fig. 3).
When the drum 1 has made one turn, the bucket is fully open and the latch 7 comes back into contact this time with the right face (fig. 3) of the latch 8. Passing the latch 7 has raised the latch 9 which, recalled by spring 1.0, goes behind # cleat 7 and immobilizes it. The two drums 1 and 2 are integral.
The bucket being open and emptied, if the brake of the opening drum 2 is released, this drum under the action .du cable 13 is driven in the direction of arrow f \. The closing drum 1 which is integral with the drum 2 is also driven and the cable 14 is, consequently, unwound from the drum, without it being necessary for it to itself pull on this drum; the dumpster can therefore be opened very quickly, almost in free fall, if necessary.
The cable 14 being unwound on drum 1 without it being necessary for it to operate a traction on this drum, it is therefore not possible (read the bucket closes during its descent, given that the piston biased by gravity , and having quite simply to drag the slack of the cable, that is, with a significant force cannot go up and therefore the bucket does not close, which is an extremely important point. interesting to allow very fast maneuvers.
Another advantage of this device is the following: When the bucket is opened, the drum 1 acquires under the traction of the cable produced by the bucket piston a certain live power which would cause the cable to unwind unwantedly 14 Now, with the system described above, this course is not to be feared, because as soon as the bucket is completely open, the movement of the drum 1 is stopped by the. stop of cleat 7 on cleat 8.
When the bucket has arrived at the painted grip, the drum brake 2 is completely released, the engine is started in the closing direction. At the same time, we press the pedal 11 erasing the linb and 9. The drum 1 being free, makes a turn, allowing the bucket to be closed. When the bucket is completely closed, the cleat 7 returning to: contact with the left face of the cleat: 8, drives the drum 2.
There is therefore no traction of the cable 13 during: the closing of the bucket, prejudicial to a good depression -de this bucket in the. goods, no more than there is to be fear that the opening drum 2 leaves with a certain delay on the closing drum 1, which would give slack to the cable 13 and interfere with its good winding on the drum.
By making a careful adjustment of the spans of the tabs, it is possible to ensure that the bucket is lifted simultaneously by the cable 13, which is extremely advantageous because the two cables thus distribute the force which can be quite important at the time. , the detachment of the bucket, if one takes into account that the lifting speed of such a winch must be extremely fast, and because the bucket does not risk twisting, since it is held in position. .two different points.
Another advantage of this hoist when it is used with well-digging buckets is that it allows, if the ground is very hard, to raise the open bucket and to let it fall several times in the same way. right to haver the ground. In this case, it suffices not to act on the control releasing the latch 9.
When the engine is started, the drum 1 by the intermediary @of the latch 9 drags the drum 2 and the bucket is lifted by the cable 13. When the hauling operation has been carried out the number of times necessary, by actuating the control -du latch 9, the latter releases the drum 1. The bucket closes and then rises as described above, removing the cuttings.
As already said, the described winch, which is primarily intended for use with well or terrace digging buckets, must be as light as possible. facilitate its handling and transport on the work.
By the way, there. - must be able to withstand the strong effort required to lift the bucket. As it is difficult to anchor it, a bique 15 (fig. 1) composed of three or four masts (for example made up of tubes) has two of its masts fixed in some way at 16 (fig. 1) on the front part of the frame -component of the winch.
For example, if the frame members are made of U irons 17 (FIGS. 4 and 5), these frames each comprise oval-shaped holes 18, in which: the tubes 15 forming the masts are placed. Cleats or bolts 19 hold the tubes to the u-irons. As the goat bears at its upper part the two pulleys 17 'necessary for the return of the closing cable 14 and of the opening cable 13, these: cables are subjected to a: tensile force on the portion situated between the pulleys 17 'and drums 1 and 2.
However, thanks to the position of the ribs of the goat, these ef forts are canceled and the winch cannot be lifted.
This arrangement also offers the advantage of leaving the assembly a certain elasticity. The weight of the winch acts on the gooseneck 15 along the lever arm k (fig. 1) with respect to the fixing point 16, of the tubes 4e the gooseneck on the frame of this winch. When the work is normal, the weight of the winch acting according to the lever arm k is sufficient to keep the winch firmly on the ground.
However, if, as a result of a wrong maneuver by the conductor, there is an abnormal force on the cables, the winch pivots around the point of contact of the U-shaped irons placed on the ground and of the stops 19 of the rod members. on these U-shaped irons, said winch acting as a counterweight with its mass.
This arrangement considerably dampens shocks and avoids cable breaks or other accidents.
Naturally, the invention is in no way limited to the mode of execution shown and described which was chosen only by way of example.
