La fig. 1 en est une vue partiellement en élévation et partiellement en coupe lon gitudinale ; La fig. 2 est une vue en plan d'une par tie de la fig. 1, la montre étant représentée dégagée du châssis, occupant une position perpendiculaire au plan de ce dernier; La fig. 3 est une élévation en bout, par tiellement en coupe, vue du côté gauche de la fig. 1; La fig. 4 est une élévation en bout, vue du côté gauche de la fig. 2, la charnière de liaison étant coupée suivant la ligne IV-IV de la fig. 3 ;
Portable timepiece. The invention relates to a portable timepiece, more particularly, but not exclusively a wristwatch comprising a cap in which is disposed a watch, the case of which is secured to said cap by a hinge, in the same way. that the watch can be released from its cap and reengaged therein in a pivoting movement about the axis of the hinge.
The object of the invention is characterized in that the case is connected to the body of the hinge by a journal allowing the watch to perform, when it is released from the cap, a rotational movement on itself, so that it is possible to place it in its cap, at will, its anterior face turned outward, revealing its indicator organs, or its anterior face turned towards the inside of the cap, revealing the background of its housing, means being provided to ensure its immobilization on the body of the hinge in each of these two positions. The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view thereof partially in elevation and partially in longitudinal section; Fig. 2 is a plan view of part of FIG. 1, the watch being shown disengaged from the chassis, occupying a position perpendicular to the plane of the latter; Fig. 3 is an end elevation, partially in section, viewed from the left side of FIG. 1; Fig. 4 is an end elevation, viewed from the left side of FIG. 2, the connecting hinge being cut along line IV-IV of FIG. 3;
Fig. 5 shows a partial cross section of the hinge according to FIG. 1. The timepiece shown is a wristwatch. It comprises a cap 6, having at each end a pair of horns 7, respectively 8, connected to one another by a bar 9. The two pairs of horns constitute, together with the bars 9, two handles to which will be fixed. the elements of the bracelet. Inside the box is a Lépine 11 watch, 12 of which designates the case and 13 the crystal. The front face of the watch is turned outwards, revealing the needles.
The case 12 of the watch is connected by one of its small sides to the body 14 of a hinge; by means of a journal 16 formed by a head screw, the knuckles 15 being connected and pivoted to the corresponding bar 9 of the cap. The journal 16 is screwed into the watch case, but it passes freely through an opening 17 provided in the hinge body 14. In a recess 18, formed in this hinge body, is freely arranged, @ to the 'tensioned state, a flat spring 19 delivering pitch to the journal and constantly acting elastically on the head bearing surface of the journal to keep the adjacent flat faces of the hinge body 14 and the watch 11 contiguous.
In this flat face of the watch are crimped two cylindrical pins 20 arranged on either side of the journal 16 (FIGS. 4 and 5). These pins are arranged in the extension of one another and form on said contiguous face of the watch, on one side and the other of the journal, two rectilinear beads which engage in two rectilinear, longitudinal and longitudinal grooves. corresponding 21, having a triangular transverse section, of the contiguous face of the body of the hinge, when the plane of the watch is parallel to the axis 9 of the hinge.
This locking device which ensures a reciprocal rigid assembly of the body of the hinge and the watch, offers the possibility, thanks to the action of the spring 19, of making the watch perform, when it is released from the cap, as shown for example in FIGS. 2 and 4, a rotational movement on itself and around the journal 16. Whenever the watch has made a rotational movement of 180 and its plane is parallel to the axis 9 of. the hinge, it is immobilized by the spring-loaded latching or locking device.
This arrangement makes it possible to place the watch in its cap at will, its front face turned outwards, revealing its indicator members, or its front face turned inwards of the shell, revealing the caseback, in order to protect the crystal 13 of the watch against shocks.
Means are provided to hold the watch in place when it is placed in the cap.
The watch may be provided with a winding mechanism operated by hand, by means of a crown, with a semi-automatic mechanism or even with an automatic mechanism. The timepiece can also be placed as an easel (fig. 2).
The embodiment shown being given by way of example, it is understood that the spring-loaded latching device could be replaced by any other equivalent device fulfilling the required functions.
