Electric telecommunications air cable with armouring over the lead sheath, in particular self-supporting telecommunications air cable with tensile reinforcement. Self-supporting aerial cables, which are stretched cantilevered between masts or other support points by means of their tensile reinforcement, are generally provided with a lead sheath over which a support element, advantageously in the form of a spiral strip, is arranged.
The support spiral is separated from the lead jacket by a layer of padding so that its sharp edges cannot press into the lead jacket. The tensile reinforcement, which is made of steel wires with high tensile strength, is located above the support element.
The steel wires and the supporting element can advantageously be provided with a special corrosion protection made of tin, zinc, chromium or other protective coatings, for example with lacquer coatings.
The one between the support spiral and. The padding layer arranged in the lead jacket usually consists of soaked jute or a thin layer of soaked fiber tape,
which only have a low electrical insulation resistance and are mostly hygroscopic. Since now self-supporting aerial cables are often over longer distances on relatively high masts. are laid, they are in increased measure, endangered by atmospheric discharges, especially if their reinforcement serves as an earth wire.
The traveling waves that propagate on the reinforcement in the event of a lightning strike also induce stresses in the metallic sheaths isolated from the reinforcement, which break through the insulating layer between the lead jacket and the support spiral and improve the lead jacket. The risk is reduced if the insulating layer is soaked through by rain, because:
the lead sheath can then assume the same potential as the reinforcement. However, this in turn has the disadvantage that high voltages are now transmitted to the cable cores, which lead to breakdowns in the insulation between the cable core and the lead sheath.
There is also the possibility that a galvanic element is formed from the lead jacket, the support spiral and the moisture absorbed by the cushioning layer, the currents of which corrode the metallic shells and the reinforcement.
These disadvantages are avoided in electrical telecommunication air cables with armoring over the lead sheath according to the invention in that an insulating layer with at least 10,000 volts dielectric strength is arranged between the lead sheath and the armoring of the air cable and measures are taken to prevent penetration to prevent moisture from entering the insulating layer.
Such a measure should be understood to mean both the arrangement of water-impermeable layers over the insulating layer and the use of even unhygroscopic insulating layers alone. The specified level of dielectric strength can be achieved through the choice of material as well as through the thickness of the insulating layer.
As a suitable material for the insulation. first and foremost, rubber materials, i.e. rubber itself, rubber compounds or synthetic rubber compounds come into question.
The hygroscopic properties of the rubber can be reduced by special treatment of the rubber, for example soaking it with 01, removing the proteins and other things.
It is expedient to arrange an additional protective layer over the high-quality insulating layer, for example an impregnated fiber braiding or a layer of fiber threads that are knitted around the cable. If light-sensitive and air-perishable insulating materials are used, a light and air-impermeable protective layer must be used.
This is expediently achieved by painting the insulating layer or impregnating the additional protective layer with colored varnishes which, for example, consist of cellulose derivatives, their solvents for. Take acetone, for example, which evaporates so quickly when the lacquer layer is applied that it cannot have any adverse effects on the insulating layer.
Instead of impregnated fiber layers and / or lacquer layers, a waterproof metal shell, for example a lead sheath, can also be arranged over the insulating layer as an additional protective layer. In this case, hygroscopic materials can also be used as insulating materials. In order to increase the conductivity of the reinforcement, all or individual support wires are advantageously formed from electrical conductor material, for example from copper, bronze, aluminum or their alloys.
However, the waterproof protective cover can also be given a high conductivity either by itself or by inlays arranged parallel to it, for example wires or tapes with good conductivity using the metals mentioned. The additional wires are expediently arranged on the inside of the protective cover.
The figure shows an embodiment of the invention. 1 are the cable cores that are combined by a paper tape 2 or a nettle tape and enclosed by a lead sheath 3.
Between the lead jacket 3 and the helical support F, a high-quality insulating layer 4 with a high dielectric strength is attached, which is covered with a protective layer 5 made of fiber tapes impregnated with paint. The high tensile strength round wire armouring 7 lies above the supporting spiral 6.
Profile wires can also serve as tensile reinforcement. In the figure, a self-supporting aerial cable is shown as an example, but the high-quality insulating layer between the reinforcement and the lead sheath can also be provided for forks that are suspended in the support cable.
With the cable according to the invention, lead sheath and armouring are insulated from one another to a high quality, even in the case of Itegen, so that lightning flashovers from the armouring to the lead sheath and electrolytic processes are reliably avoided.
Furthermore, no harmful potential differences can occur between the lead sheath and the cable cores, so that on the one hand the measures previously required to increase the dielectric strength of the insulation between the cores and the lead sheath can be dispensed with, and on the other hand the costly compensation the earth capacitance differences becomes unnecessary.
