    in der X einen bei der Reaktion sich  abspaltenden     Substituenten,    z. B. -OH oder  Halogen bedeutet, mit     p-Chlor-o-methoxyani-          lin    umsetzt.  



       Beispiel     <B>51,9</B>     gr        9-Äthyl-2-oxykarbazol-3-karbon-          säure    und 36     gr        1-Amino-2-methoxy-4-chlor-          benzol    werden in 1000 cm'     Toluol    gelöst.  Bei<B>60-650</B> lässt man unter Rühren inner  halb '/a Stunde 14     gr        Phosphortrichlorid    zu  tropfen, erwärmt dann langsam zum Sieden  und hält das Reaktionsprodukt 8 Stunden  bei dieser Temperatur. Dann macht man mit       Sodalösung    alkalisch, bläst mit Wasserdampf    alles Flüchtige ab und wäscht mit Wasser  aus.

   Man erhält das     9-Äthyl-2-oxyliarbazol-          3-karboylamino-2'-methoxy-    4'- Chlorbenzol  vom F. P. 226   in Form eines     gelbstichig     weissen Pulvers.
