Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Farbstoffes der Anthracenreihe. Durch die deutsche Patentschrift 470809, Iil. 22b, ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung von Farbstoffen der Anthracenreihe ge schützt, welches darin besteht, dass man 9.10-Dischwefelsäureester bezw. ;
Process for the preparation of a dye of the anthracene series. By the German patent 470809, Iil. 22b, is a method for the preparation of dyes of the anthracene series ge protected, which consists in that one respectively 9.10-disulfuric acid ester. ;
the salts thereof of those leucoanthraquinones which contain one or more ss amino groups or. Containing N-substituted amino groups, treated in the presence of alkali with oxidizing agents and then subjecting the resulting reaction products to the action of acidic oxidizing agents.
It has now been found that, quite generally, the alkaline oxidation of leuco-sulfuric acid esters of β-aminoanthraquinones can be carried out particularly advantageously with the lead superoxide, which is not mentioned in the patent, even at normal or even lower temperatures. This process achieves an increased yield of reaction products and furthermore avoids the risk of harmful side reactions with greater certainty than is the case with the oxidizing agents mentioned in Patent Specification No. 470,809.
The smooth course of the reaction is surprising in that lead superoxide is generally only used in acidic solution for oxidation purposes, while little is known about the oxidative behavior of lead superoxide in alkaline solution. It was therefore not foreseeable that in the present case the use of lead peroxide in an alkaline medium would bring the advantages described above.
The use of lead dioxide as an oxidizing agent is also particularly advantageous, as it is possible with its help to oxidize leucosulfuric acid esters of β-acylaminoanthraquinones or their substitution products without prior saponification of the acylamino group, which oxidation is expediently carried out with heat and use is carried out by caustic alkalis.
This fact has technical importance insofar as the sulfuric acid esters of the ß-aminoanthraquinones are usually prepared by acylation of ß-aminoanthraquinones, reducing esterification and saponification of the acyl amino groups.
The present invention now relates to a process for the preparation of a dye of the anthraquinone series, which is characterized in that ß-aminoleukoanthraquinone-9. 10 - disulfuric acid ester treated in an alkaline medium with lead superogyd.
Example: In an aqueous solution of 50 parts by weight of the dipotassium salt of the ß-aminoleuco anthraquinone - 9. 10 - disulfuric acid esters are added after the addition of 15 parts by weight of soda at room temperature 220 parts by weight of a 37% lead superogyd paste with thorough stirring. Stirring is continued until unchanged starting material can no longer be detected. After filtration, a strongly fluorescent solution is obtained, the yellow solution described in Example 1 of Patent Specification No. 470809.
The product can be isolated in the usual way and is probably the well-known tetraester of the 1st 2 .2 '. 1'-anthraquinonazins.
