Process for the production of the disodium salt of indigweiss disulfuric acid. The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of the disodium salt of indigweiss disulfuric acid and is characterized in that leucoindigo is treated in the presence of a metal with a sulfur trioxide compound of a tertiary base in the absence of haloalkyl.
If the process were to run in the presence of haloalkyl in the reaction mixture, then the treatment with alkali would not result in a sodium salt but a soluble methylpyridinium derivative of the indigewissdisulfuric acid ester.
The following examples show how the process can be carried out, the parts indicated being parts by weight. Example 1: About 72 parts of pyridine are slowly added with cooling. 17.6 parts of chlorosulfonic acid and 12.5 parts of dry dihydro-indigo are added to the reaction mixture , which with metallic zinc powder, the amount of which depends on the purity of the leuco compound, and z. B. 6 parts, was mixed. The mixture is initially stirred cold and then at 50-600 C for half an hour.
When the reaction is complete, the mass is diluted with five times the amount of water, warmed up slightly, filtered while warm and allowed to crystallize. The salt obtained is then mixed with alkali and can be used in this form.
Example 2: 31 parts of an artificially produced mixture of 50 parts of indigo and 50 parts of leuco indigo are mixed with 15 parts of zinc dust and a pyridine which is well-cooled by slowly adding 50 parts of chlorosulfonic acid to 180 parts formed Ge mixture added. The thick reaction mass is stirred in the cold state for a few minutes and then the temperature is increased to 55 ° C. and held constant for about 1/2 hour.
The reaction is carried out in an open vessel and no precautions are taken; to shut the air out, hit. The mass is then added to water (1000 parts) containing 60 parts of sodium carbonate and distilled until most of the pyridine has been driven off. Filtration gives a solution of the desired stable, soluble sulfuric acid derivative of indigo, from which the derivative can be obtained in solid form by thickening, preferably at a low temperature.
Instead of zinc, other metals can be used), such as. B. tin, magnesium and copper bronze or copper bronze mixed with about 75 / o zinc. The metal does not enter the end product of the process.
Other tertiary bases can also be used instead of pyridine. The tertiary base does not enter the final product of the process.
Instead of chlorosulfonic acid, sulfur trioxide, oleum and its salts and the salts of chlorosulfonic acid can be used, since these compounds, like sulfur trioxide, have the property of forming a halogen-alkyl-free sulfuric acid anhydride derivative of the tertiary base.
The present invention creates a method by which when using a leuco body as the starting material (which in technical form can still contain Lin-reduced or regressed dye) the deficiency caused by the presence of the original dye or regressed leuco body in the material is avoided or reduced in yield.
Mach the present process will keep a stable, water-soluble product, which is obtained in solid form and used for dyeing or printing textile fibers without the use of vats who can. The end product of the present process is not regarded as new, since various processes for its production have already been proposed.
