Procedure for removing tension in finished ropes. In order to eliminate the tension in the finished rope, it has already been proposed to treat the rope with a so-called post-forming apparatus. This treatment ge happens, for example, in such a way that the rope as a whole is subjected to changes in direction, to increase the effect in as many levels as possible, where a large number of direction-changing means must be arranged one behind the other. Such arrangements are on the one hand quite cumbersome due to their spatial extent and on the other hand have the disadvantage that large forces are required to pull the rope as a whole over a series of successive deflection points and thus the parts of the device must be held extremely strong.
The individual elements are very unevenly claimed in this treatment, and the treated rope shows severe damage to the individual elements over the entire circumference. The present invention relates to a process in which the previously chosen route of post-treatment of the finished .Seils is abandoned as a whole, and in which ropes of any size and strength are made free of tension and twist-free in an extremely simple manner with Beringst possible forces by hand or by machine can be. The invention is based on the knowledge that in order to take the tension off the elements of the rope, one must not post-treat the rope as a whole, but that it is necessary to subject each individual element of the finished rope to post-treatment.
Naturally, this cannot be done by dismantling the rope into its individual elements and treating them. For this purpose, after loosening the finished rope, a support is placed under the rope elements after loosening the finished rope at one end point or near an end point brought, which keeps each rope element in a certain deflection compared to its normal rope position,
whereupon there is a relative movement between the rope and the support in such a way that successively all parts of each rope element following the screw thread of the rope are continuously subjected to the aforementioned deflection over the entire length of the rope.
The method will be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, which illustrates two exemplary embodiments of a device for carrying out the method. It denotes a in Fig. 1 the completely stranded rope, just as it leaves the factory as an ordinary rope ready for dispatch. It's shaky at the ends so it doesn't pop open.
This rope is now loosened at point b, that is, the elements (in Fig. 1 the strands) who .abgehoben from the core of the rope, brought out of their normal direction and bent out, as shown. Fig. 2 shows a support c, which is introduced into the loosened point b of the .Seil according to Fig. 1 so that the rope elements, as shown, remain permanently subject to a deflection during the treatment. This support exists.
As shown in Fig. 3, for example, from a two-part star c, which has recesses d on the circumference in the number of rope elements to be treated and its central bore e, the core f of the rope sums up. This star c is now, as shown in Fig. 4, surrounded by a ring g (Fig. 4 in cross section, Fig. 5 in plan), which is scho ben over the rope clamped at one end, and is rotatably mounted in this. This ring serves as an abutment for the star c.
By grasping the handles h and h ', the ring g is now moved in the direction of the rope without rotating, the helical shape of the rope elements, ie the strands in the example described, serving to guide the rotatable star and where. This star rotates in the ring g at the indicated movement direction around the rope axis, depending on the direction of impact in one or the other direction, similar to the ball as a result of the spirally attached trains in the gun barrel.
As in this way, the loosened point b (according to FIG. 1) migrates over the entire length of the rope. It is easy to see that by treating the rope in this way, all parts of each rope element are successively subjected to the same deflection, and that the use of similar deflections also eliminates the tension in the elements evenly.
Since as a result of the rotatability of the deflecting star and due to the relative low required deflection of each rope element from its normal rope position only low forces are required to move the forming device, the rope is treated extremely gently by using this procedural rens. The rope elements show no signs of damage after using the method. The use of the above-mentioned method has the advantage that any ordinary rope can subsequently be easily converted into a low-twist, tension-free rope.
While the rope is previously rigid and stiff and bounces open at the interfaces, it is transformed into a soft, flexible rope by using the method just described, the interfaces of which hold together firmly when the rope is cut, without parts of the rope from its structure jump out.
Instead of the deflection support referred to as a star, another, similar deflection device, e.g. B. a disc provided with openings , the openings of which are arranged on a concentric circle in the same distance from each other and in one of the desired deflection of the rope elements corresponding distance from the rope axis, also ball races or similar..
In order to reduce the friction, the deflection support can also be mounted in the retaining ring in the manner of neck and track bearings. In FIGS. 6 and 7, a deflection device for bending the rope elements is shown, in which rollers i are provided for guiding the rope elements, the holders k of which are adjustable in the radial direction. The ring l carrying these roles holder is superimposed to reduce friction on balls m against a solid ring 7t serving as a housing.
Instead of pulling the device over the finished rope clamped at one end, the device can also be arranged in a stationary manner and the rope pulled through. Instead of the two-part star (or other deflecting means) you can also use an undivided th and thread the rope elements at the ends of the rope. Instead of each roller, a ball ring can be used, through whose inner opening the cable element is passed. It is also conceivable to arrange the device explained on a stranding machine on the section just in front of the take-off disk or at any other suitable point.
The described method can be used for all types of ropes.
