Process for the preparation of an oxidation product of a sulfur-containing derivative of aliphatic higher hydrocarbons. The present patent relates to a process for the production of an oxidation product of a sulfur-containing derivative of aliphatic higher hydrocarbons, characterized in that the sulfurization product containing both sulfur-containing and basic nitrogen-containing groups,
this is done by heating a hexachloride hard paraffin with a methyl alcoholic ammonia solution and heating the unsaturated and chlorine-containing product thus obtained with an alkali sulfhydrate solution according to Swiss. Patent 158438 received, oxidized with nitric acid.
The new oxidation product is a yellowish, semi-solid body which is slightly soluble in water, not in dilute acids, and easily soluble in dilute alkali solutions. It contains approximately one sulfo group and all of the nitrogen in the starting material. The sodium salt can be obtained from alkaline solutions by looking in the form of a yellowish, thick oil. The new oxidation product should be used as an auxiliary product for various textile purposes.
Example: 21 parts of a sulphurization product containing both sulfur-containing and basic nitrogen-containing groups: was read by heating a hexachloro hard paraffin with an ethyl alcoholic ammonia solution and heating the unsaturated and chlorine-containing product obtained in this way with an alkali sulfhydrate solution according to Swiss. U.S. Patent 158438 are mixed with 50 parts carbon tetrachloride.
6.5 parts of concentrated nitric acid are allowed to slowly run into the mixture at 50-601 'with thorough stirring, the reaction product immediately separating out in the form of a yellowish oil. When the evolution of nitrogen oxide has ended, the oil is separated from the carbon tetrachloride, washed with carbon tetrachloride and dried briefly in vacuo. About 23 parts of a yellowish, semi-solid product are obtained. The new compound appears to be in the form of an inner salt.
