Dans la forme d'exécution représentée, l'appareil comporte un manche 1 pourvu d'une tige 2 à l'extrémité de laquelle est adaptée une brosse 3 appliquée contre une première tringle 4 supportant une serpillière double 5 dont l'autre extrémité est main tenue par une seconde tringle 6 fixée à un manchon 7 retenu sur la tige près du manche 1 par un cliquet 8. Le manchon 7 peut coulisser et tourner sur la tige de ma nière que la serpillière 5 puisse venir se plier et se placer sous la brosse 3 afin que l'on puisse frotter le plancher et essuyer et absorber l'eau résultant d'un nettoyage.
La brosse 3 est maintenue adaptée à la tige 2 par une vis 9 pénétrant dans la brosse 3 en traversant une plaque coudée 10 qui est solidaire de la première tringle. Cette vis permet de serrer la brosse 3 contre la tringle 4 assurant ainsi de la ri gidité à l'ensemble de l'appareil.
Le manche 1 présente un renflement 11 semblable par sa forme au manchon 7; ces deux manchons sont chacun creusé de rai nures destinées à assurer une bonne prise aux mains.
L'appareil s'emploie comme suit: pour frotter avec la brosse, il suffit de tendre la serpillière 5 en immobilisant le manchon 7 prés du manche à l'aide du cliquet 8.
Pour essuyer et absorber l'eau, on déplace le manchon 7 afin que la serpillière 5 puisse se doubler en formant quatre épaisseurs de toile qui viennent se placer sous la brosse 3. Pour expulser l'eau de la serpillière 5, on ramène le manchon 7 dans sa position de retenue, puis, en tenant le manchon 11 d'une main, il suffit de tourner le manche 1 pour que la serpillière 5 se torde autour de la tige 2, ce qui chasse l'eau qui avait été ab sorbée.
