Das Verfahren gestattet also, wohlcharakterisierte 1- Amino -10 - anthrone darzustellen,
Process for the preparation of a 1-amino-10-aaithron. It has been found that 1-amino-10-anthrones are obtained easily and with very good yield if one uses a compound of the general structure:
EMI0001.0003
which is unsubstituted in g, or allows an acidic condensation agent to act on its derivatives or substitution products.
The 1-amino-10-anthrones are new substances that are to be used as intermediates in the manufacture of dyes.
Acid condensing agents that can be used are all agents known for ring closures. Sulfuric acid of at least 70%, chlorosulfonic acid or aluminum chloride are particularly suitable. The 1-amino-10-anthrones obtained sa are not identical to the aminoanthrones obtained from a-aminoanthraquinones by reduction. The method thus allows well-characterized 1-amino -10-anthrones to be produced,
which are of technical importance and which are to be used for the representation of dyes and dye intermediates. The 1-amino-10-antbrones change into the corresponding anthraquinones when exposed to the air in an alkaline solution or treated with an oxidizing agent.
It is surprising that the reaction described above proceeds so smoothly and gives the 1-amino-10-anthrones in very good yield, since the 2'-amino-2-benzoylbenzoic acid is extremely difficult and only under special conditions to 1- Aminoanthraquinone condenses.
The ease with which the reaction can be carried out is also surprising because the ring closure must be meta to the amino group, that is to say a position that is known to be less reactive than the ortho and para positions.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a 1-amino: 10-anthrone, which is characterized in that 2'-amino-2-benzyl-. Benzoic acid treated with an acidic condensation agent.
Examples 1) 80 parts by weight of 2'-amino-2-benzylbenzoic acid are dissolved in 800 parts by weight of sulfuric acid (96%), heated to 60-650 for 1/4 hour and then the reaction mixture in ice water. poured. The yellow-green precipitate obtained is filtered off with suction and washed neutral.
2) 125 parts by weight of 2'-amino-2-benzylbenzoic acid sodium are introduced into 1500 parts by weight of sulfuric acid (90%) at 25 to 300 parts. After everything is in solution, the mixture is heated at 70 ° for half an hour. The experiment is processed according to Example 1.
3) 132 parts by weight of hydrochloric 2'-amino-2-benzylbenzoic acid are added in small portions to 2000 parts by weight of sulfuric acid (88%). As soon as no more hydrochloric acid is split off and solution has entered, the mixture is heated and stirred for 1/2 hour at 70 to 76 '. The reaction product is worked up as described in Example 1 instead.
4) 55 parts by weight of 2'-amino-2-benzylbenzoic acid are dissolved in 500 parts by weight of monobydrate and heated at 45-500 for a quarter of an hour. The condensation product is obtained as described in Example 1.
5) With cooling <B> (00-100) </B>, 55 parts by weight of 2'-amino-2-benzylbenzoic acid are added in portions to 440 parts by weight of chlorosulfonic acid and dissolved, stirred for 10 minutes at room temperature. After decomposition of the melt with ice, the 1-amino -10 - antonium is obtained as described in Example 1.
6) In a melt of 365 parts by weight of aluminum chloride and 75 parts by weight of table salt are at 120 0 55 parts by weight of 2'-amino-2-benzylbenzoic acid einetra conditions. Half an hour is fused at 120-1250 and then zer sets with ice water. The deposited yellow-brown product is filtered off with suction, boiled with dilute HCl to destroy Al salts and washed neutral.
The 1-amino-10-anthrone obtainable in this way forms fine needles with a melting point of <B> 172-173 'from o - dichlorobenzene or gylene or chlorobenzene. </B> It dissolves in a light yellow with weak green fluorescence in concentrated sulfuric acid and yellow in sodium hydroxide solution. When standing in the air or by adding oxidizing agents, a-amino anthraquinone is separated from its alkaline solution.
